If 90%+ of men don’t experience pfs and have found Propecia to be useful in preventing hair loss, then I guess I can understand why they’d be defensive about anyone threatening to take away their “elixir”.
Hopefully we can add a few extra names to the petition and some guy said he’d donated to the foundation, so it’s worthwhile I think.
There’s also an elemental of denial, I imagine a lot of guys already experience slight reduced libido from Propecia. On BaldTruthTalk that and watery semen are pretty common, but are dismissed as benign. By legitimising the existence of PFS, they have to accept that this might be a real issue which would remove the last real defence against hairloss.
The problem is it’s hard to conceptualise permanent erectile dysfunction when you’re in your 20s. You’re desperate to keep your hair, assume any side-effects would never happen to you, and take the risk without truely comprehending.
Wait until all these men stop taking finasteride. I experienced zero noticeable side effects for 9 years, actually had super high libido, then crash after taking it. These men don’t realize it
Eventually there will be enough scientific evidence to show a causative link between the drug and PFS. And when that happens, scores of men around the globe will quit the drug out of fear, and rightfully so.
But then…
A lot of them will develop PFS–and go knocking on Merck’s front door for answers, which the pharma giant does not have.
I also was on propecia for ten years and did
not have any side effects until I stopped.
One day I came across this website by
accident and I decided to stop cold turkey
after reading all the horror stories.
I think if all the people now taking propecia
stopped, the number of victims would increase
into the hundreds of thousands.
