A: blood test results 2 weeks after stopping posted in ‘Blood Tests’ section - will post pre-finsasteride bloods soon once I have found them.

  1. Anything not listed in the above questions you’d like to share about your experience with Finasteride?

  2. Tell us your story, in your own words, about your Finasteride usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.

A: I took finasteride for 2 months, then noticed side effects including water retention, flabby abdomen and chest, total loss of libido, and gynocomastia. Two weeks after stopping, the libido and general flab improved. In fact my libido was higher than anything i can recall in recent years. I also had a very positive energy. 1 week later these improvements in libido and weight loss have ebbed away. I am back to square one i.e. no libido and gynocomastia 3 weeks after stopping. My blood work appears all normal although this was taken at the peak of my improvement spike at 2 weeks. I want my libido and ability to orgasm back, and my zest for life which i think is closely linked, and I want to reverse the gynocomastia.

Sorry but you got the classic PFS with crash.
There is no cure, so I suggest you to go into the forum and decide what to do.

Best!

Thanks for your reply. Does the brief improvement shortly after stopping necessarily rule out typical recovery that most report after few weeks/months?

The improvement just after quitting is normal for the people that get the “crash”. You take fin, then stop, then improves, then crash.

You can recover or not. There is no rule for recoveries.

What’s really odd is that during my short lived improvement, i felt better mentally, sexually, socially (etc etc) than i had EVER felt before. I wasn’t back at pre-finasteride levels but in fact on some higher plane i hadn’t ever experienced in life. I did take some shrooms a few days before and initially i put it down to that (after all i felt i’d been given some magical drug) but on reflection the fact it happened 2 weeks after stopping indicates it was the finasteride spike.

Exactly, you feel like a superhero. That is normal for people that get the crash, that is the most beatiful feeling I have ever had also. It is like you could climb the everest and f*** with 5 woman at the same time…

Spooon, did you fully recover?

It’s been nearly 5 months now since I stopped. My sexual function is good enough on the whole. My fatty drooping breast hasn’t gone, and that’s as real an issue for my self esteem and hence libido as anything else. I am in the middle of a get lean regime, hoping the extra fold of nipple fat goes away. If not I will try tamoxifen.

congrats dude, do you still have ed?
