Reading Comprehension and Memory

I am studying a law degree and have to read, comprehend and memorise 300-400 pages within 4 weeks. Unfortunately my PFS symptoms are causing great difficulty in this area and I was wondering if anyone has :

  1. experienced something similar and
  2. has ideas about what might help, e.g. supplements?

By the way i don’t think its brain fog. It’s something different, like some filters of my brain shut down, i’m sure you will understand what i mean.

Thanks for your help.

I do know what you mean. it’s not typical memorry or comprehension of a global nature. For mek, it was odd tid bits of memory missing. One thing I noticed that my spelling and punctuation were often messed up. I used to write very well because of my graduate studies in Critical Care / Trauma Nursing. But later, after taking Propecia I would make silly mistakes, such as not writing the correct to, too, or two. Punctuation which I was good at, escaped me sometimes. So now I have to proof and reproof read. Oh and spelling mistakes are atrocious. Thanks heaven for spell checkers.

I’ve had more of a problem with detail recall. Often I can remember a part or an aspect of something but not the whole. This is what I used to be very good at. Like right now, I don’t have a way to read your question again, and sorry I wanted to say more but can’t recall the specifics of what I just read. God this is sad.

Mate I know exactly what you mean - my mid-term memory was completely shot to pieces for a good 12 months after propecia. I was a few years ahead of you (coming up to fourth year of practice) and it became very obvious to those around me. I only really kept my job due to the crazy hours I was willing to put in to compensate.

Law is so marks dependent that it might be good just to do as well as you can this semester, take some time off and maybe start chipping away at those student loans. If you’re in the US, the market is god awful right now so you shouldn’t be in any hurry to graduate.

Know that mental effects almost universally get better within 2 years. I’m almost back to 100% at 22 months off. I would give omega 3 fish oil a crack (did nothing for me, but others found it helped) and eat a high protein diet (protein for each meal). Eating a healthy protein filled breakfast was a great help for me.

PM me if you’re still fucked up.
