Psychogenic Causes of Erectile Dysfunction
• Male Sexual Dysfunction • Oct 12, 2007

Psychological causes were once widely assumed to be the predominant cause of erectile dysfunction. However, if the correct definition of erectile dysfunction is applied, namely, the persistent loss of penile rigidity in all circumstances, then psychogenic erectile dysfunction proves to be less common than its organic counterpart, especially in older men.

Psychogenic erectile dysfunction typically occurs in younger men, and is variable and often associated with performance anxiety. Increased sympathetic vasoconstrictor tone and raised circulating norepinephrine levels are most probably involved.

Psychogenic factors also come into play in other forms of erectile dysfunction, as failure of erection itself induces anxiety, loss of confidence and sometimes relationship difficulties. The conviction that an erection will not develop when required, therefore, becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Check it out - we are all young on here

Yohimbe works and its the only alpha blocker of all of the ED treatments (blocks nor epinephrine below the waste)

What if our repeated sexual failures when coming off of the poison were so devastating to us that we are all suffering some kind of PSTD and we dont realize it. and it IS in our heads but not that we are crazy but its psychogenic … again its a what if … but that sure would make sense since NOTHING works. and there’s no rhyme or reason for falling off or feeling better.

I am starting on a cycle of Wellbutrin and Yohimbine possibly adding in Trazodone (yohimbine and trazodone are great together for psychogenic ED)

This is going to be my regimen:

  • 150mg Wellbutrin XL 1x/day
  • 5.4mg Yohimbine Hyd. 3x/day (16.2mg/day)
  • Sauna for 20 - 40 minutes 5x/week
  • 15-30 minutes on the stair mountain 5x/week
  • Probiotics daily
  • Shaitsu or Swedish massage 2x/week
  • Weekly session with a Biopsychosocial approach Psychiatrist - on the American board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Refrain from stressful activity as much as possible
  • Daily practice of relaxation response activities
  • All organic foods (this diet change will help me to put my efforts into something other than thinking about my dick.)
  • Significant reduction in activity on this site

Penis srinkage, penis tissue changes, testicular pain, watery semen, no sensation while ejaculating, muscle wastage, brain fog, no response to trt…all in the head…

Now whos getting snake oiled

again, i am saying “what if”. So considering i have tried everything else and anything else i dont see the harm in this approach. i will be pointing out the copper toxicity idea to my new MD who is a holistic and integrative specialist and move forward with that approach as appropriate but for now i am going to be focusing on this.

if you read the link that i posted a few posts back above you see that being stuck in “fight or flight” can shrink your penis. you cant box someone or wrestle someone if you have a boner. if you are fighting someone and they grab your dick are you are not going to get turned on. you wont be able to get turned on - your body is going in a different direction. the idea here is making making the distinction between “in your head” crazy and “in your head” too much adrenaline etc is being released and it is messing us up in many ways which is psychogenic ED.

No response to TRT is something you bring up. Whenever I take testosterone it doesnt do too much for my dick. granted. but it never fails to put 5- 10 lbs of muscle on me.

Notice that Yohimbe is a cure of Psychogenic ED and thats it. And its the only thing that seems to help anyone on here for sure.

Have we seen anyone get cured from Behavioral counseling yet? No but has anyone even tried it? I dont think so.

But we HAVE seen 2 people get cured (allegedly) - one from taking a product for 45 days which contains Yohimbine. the second person from making lifestyle and diet changes and focusing on something else other than his dick and clearing out all toxins from his body.

i am not pretending to know what it is in any regard. i dont know. but i would love to find out and hopefully i can help either figure it out or narrow it down by eliminating things that it isnt so i will continue to challenge theories and post new theories and try some of them out and post my results

you might be on to something.

Sorry to stress you out and increase your involvement on this website.

Tim, hold off on the copper tests buddy boy  save that money for some condoms

Yohimbine sounds pretty good to be honest. I have one concern though, is there any way to get it in Australia? I read that it is prohibited for sale here… How can it be FDA approved in the US, but banned here? I hope Im wrong as Id love to try some…

Tachycardia, hypertension… what’s not to like.

iwontgiveup doesnt seem to be too worried by the sideeffects from what he has written… But of course everyone is different.
The presciption Yohimbe Yocon sounds promising…

iwontgiveup how has the Yocon been going for you so far???

Does anyone ever do a search for their interest around here? Yohimbe is not even close to a long term solution. I’ve even tried it. Got some personality back, but nearly had a heart attack.

Yohimbine is not yohimbe. It’s only the extract from it with much less side effects. I’ve tried both substances and can say yohimbine doesn’t have nearly 1/2 the side effects yohimbe has.

Hi 3pm, yes I have done a search on it, and have seen how some people have been able to get hard erections and have proper sex again, such as bluejaysfan and iwontgiveup, and others have been turned off by the side effects. This could be dependent on things such as quantity used, what type is used, and also fequency of use.

As anonnn1 pointed out, yohimbine has less side effects than yohimbe, and there is also a prescription yohimbine which sounds like it has a lot less side effects too.
3pm do you know which kind you tried?

Im not saying this is a long term solution, so far no one has a long term solution, but if this can allow many of us to atleast have some normal sex every now and then, i think its something thats worth a try…

Im defintiely going to give it a shot if i can get some…

ithappens and paulwaters2006 haven’t returned reporting further problems.

Look. We’ve tried these and many other supplements, I’m just telling you they don’t solve the problem. If you want to repeat the same steps without doing searches on the website to see what was done, go ahead.

This is why I don’t even come here anymore… we have new guys spamming the place with the same questions.

mate when some guys are reporting some success with a product, i dont think asking questions is a problem, infact i think keeping posts active with peoples experiences both recent and from the past is a beneficial thing. Like i said i have done searches about it and seen people who r both happy and unhappy with yohimbe

hence why i said factors such as the type used etc could have different side effects. Im trying do something positive and find out other peoples experiences, and yet u have just avoided my question about what type u tried which would be helpful, but instead spend your time criticising me instead…

Im so sorry if this question was addressed back in 2006 or something, but i havent read every single post from then until now…

Me neither, but I’m still able to have a handle on what is effective and what isn’t in ameliorating and eliminating PFS symptoms. And, again, when I don’t know, I research it on the forum - which is already littered in posts - rather than just adding my ignorance to the pile.

The point is sure, continuing to discuss a topic is fine, but making new threads to discuss something that already has multiple threads doesn’t help the cohesiveness of the forum, and that’s a problem this place is plagued by as it is.

I’m sorry if I’m zeroing in on you here, but the forum is just too cluttered in repetitive nonsense. I appreciate the cooperativeness of everyone here to discuss and share their experiences with this abhorrent condition, but I’m completely tired of it all. The majority of users here flood the place with pointless drivel about what we already knew at least three years ago. Not to mention it’s hard to feel like it’s a community about sharing when the only time we hear from the guys in charge here is when someone’s being banned. I’m upset to have to feel like I need to attack a forum founded to get to the bottom of this Propecia illness, but I don’t think this is working out. I really appreciate the site, board, etc, but you never know what’s going on around here. Maybe it’s just me though… maybe I’m just giving up trying to compromise the egos and one-track theories.

Sorry to go off-topic.

  1. I made a comment based on what the the thread starter had discussed.
  2. The thread starter gave us some info on his personal experience with a product.

Whether it has been discussed before or not is irrelevant. It was his personal experience and he is just sharing it with us, whether we absorb it or disregard it is everyone’s personal choice… I found it to be really interesting and as such Im going to try it for myself. Im happy this thread was started and Im sure others are too.

I really cant see what the problem here is. I think you are taking things beyond where they need to be.
If you dont want to read a new topic on something you know has been discussed previously, dont read it. Simple. For others, it might just be helpful.
Part of dealing with this problem is to ask questions, especially for new members, so I can see how it might get repetitive for you at times, but for others it is part of coming to terms with this problem. And to be honest the more posts i see the more positive I feel that this site is active and more people are contributing and trying to help and trying to get to the bottom of this.
When the site is stagnant, thats when i start getting demoralised…

Please, lets just get back to the topic, both our opinions im sure have been noted…

Lets stick to what we know…High Noepinephrine can cause chronic ED as well. If finasteride has dirsupted the endocrine, and thyroid balance, then there is a good chance Noepinephrine will shoot way up to compensate. Some of us may of already been predisposed to high noepinepherine(for example our neurological chemistry is just built that way).

My theory is alot of us have high noepinpehrine due to finasteride causing a huge imbalance/disruption. EVERYTHING has to be looked at. ENDOCRINE, THYROID, ADRENALS, NEUROTRANSMITTERS… If your doctor is not doing that, he or she is not doing his job.

Why is it when I took yohimbe on a normal basis that I was recovering and getting better. I think it was because it lowered some noepinephrine in the receptors.

the person who started the thread mentions that we should elevate Noepinephrine and thus take Yohimbe and you mention about reducing Noepinephrine (by taking Yohimbine). Whats the deal?

Instead of going through posts on here do research on it. Yohimbine blocks certain noepinephrine receptors(NOT ALL of them). This is why some people feel better on it.

Before even reading this thread, I was at the Vitamine Shop yesterday and decided to try another supplement not really expecting much to happen. I decided to give Male Response a try from Natural Sources because it wasn’t too expensive and I thought what the heck, give it a try. I noticed it had Yoshimbe in it but again I didn’t think too much. Came home took 2 on an empty stomach and after about 20 mins of taking it I felt my heart start to race. I felt my libido increase but I felt sick to my stomach for a good 2-3 hours, I was also sweating more. My heart continued to race for the rest of the evening and I had 2 great orgasms with a rock hard errection. I only slept about 4 hours last night but I still have energy today. I also noticed the inflamation in my prostate completly went away.

I did a lot of research on yoshimbe last night and I think this might really help if I can deal with the side effects. I am going to try just 1 pill today on a full stomach and see how that goes. I like the libido and energy but I feel very wired up. I think this stuff is very powerful.
