Questions about erectile dysfunction, DHEA and propecia

I started taking propecia about 3 weeks ago and without much surprise I developed erectile problems so I quit. And slowly my erections seem to be coming back, but before I quit I used the opportunity to experiment to understand better what was happening. What I did was supplement DHEA to see if there was a difference and there was! I was back to normal while on propecia…this left me confused so thats why I came here. I am off propecia but still curious about its effects so here are my questions that I hope yall can help me with

-Does the DHEA helping mean that low testosterone was the ED culprit?

-Is supplementing DHEA long term hazardous in any way? lets say 20 mg was the dose.

-And my final one. I got a bit of brain fog when I upped my dose (I weened up to 1mg from .25) but I used arimidex and voila it was gone literally within minutes. So what does this mean?

Do not take finasteride. Enjoy your good health. If you are really worried about your hair, you can try natrual progesterone.

DHEA usually increases estrogen in which can cause many problems, finasteride can also increase estrogen.

Im not but the DHEA helped me so what does that mean?

Also what would natural progesterone do?

thanks

Dont know what it means but I had some sort of recovery (id say about 75% of sexual function, libido) when experimenting with a cycle of VERY high dose DHEA (800-1500mg per day) and low dose nolvadex (5mg per day or 10mg eod i think). That was 3 years ago.

That further makes me believe it has to be a testosterone issue. I wish someone with more knowledge than me would comment though

So you have no persistent problems?

I would anticipate your estrogen would have gone through the roof if you continued on finasteride.

No the culprit is 5AR2 was being inhibited. An increase in testosterone (via DHEA) would help replace missing androgen, as it did, but as i mentioned above your estrogen would have sky rocketed if you had of continued on Finasteride.
As you noted you began to get brain fog, which was cured by armidex, a sure sign your brain fog was caused by increased estrogen.

On finasteride side effects and post finasteride side effects are two different things.

Okay things are starting to make sense but just to make sure Im understanding it, youre saying 20 mg of DHEA was enough to counter act the DHT inhibiting effects of 1 mg of propecia?

I went to a urologist had blood work done and my test, estrogen, DHT, FSH, LH all came back fine. But I had trouble getting an erection. Specifically getting blood into and keeping blood in the penis. My urologist gave me cialis to try and an hour after taking it I was brought back to my normal pre fin sex drive state. The effects seem to wane however if Im not on cialis.

So what does this mean?
