Question for people suffering with PFS

Hey everyone. I myself have PSSD, and I was wondering if people with PFS also don’t react to drugs and booze anymore. Let me know.

I have PFS and I react to alcohol exactly the same as before.

I think this might be a difference between PSSD and PFS. We often dont react anymore to drugs/booze anymore. Any others? would be interesting to know.

I have PSSD from fluoxetine and 5-HTP and I react the same to drugs and alcohol as I did before it.

Some people with PFS have reported that they don’t respond to alcohol anymore. It’s more a symptom variability, rather than an indication of there being two separate conditions.

I had couple of glasses of red wine last week. Got drunk as I used to, so yeah, still the same for me as it was back in the day.

I have PSSD but I wanted to mention that now I seem to respond to alcohol again.

And you are quite a severe case right? I really still think with PSSD people more often have no response anymore to drugs/alcohol. More severe cases of pssd all have this mostly.

I do respond to alcohol, but just the dizzy side, no pleasure (or emotions) whatsoever

i dont respond to things that boost dopamine anymore

Yeah, I can tell I am severe case as my joints are completely fucked, other sides come and go, like the brain fog, libido is low but not that bad, now 95% of the time got my morning wood, but the joints tho… fucking hell

I got the relaxing pleasure feeling from it, I think the other pleasure is not there as you already carry your burden with you and you can’t be careless as you were back in the day. Even if I am drunk I know that I am not the same person anymore.

This is not a difference - in fact it’s an interesting similarity that a percentage of PFS and pssd patients report this. It is well reported across this forum’s history in PFS. Interestingly, Irwig produced a publication on significantly lower alcohol consumption amongst PFS patients.

Since my crash I cannot feel benzodiazepines at the prescribed dose. I am in too severe a state to have risked alcoholic drinks since.

I don’t respond to booze anymore. Ie get drunk and chilled. It numbs my symptoms only to a degree. I only drink white wine now
