question about ejaculate - damage to woman?

Hello,

I know this forum is for men, but maybe you can help me with this question. Propecia specifically warns women not to touch the pills. Is there any evidence of cum damaging my sex organs (i have not been able to make BF come no matter how hard I’ve tried, and never noticed any pre-cum) (we rarely have sex, without condoms because they take away the erection, I am on birth control) (he takes propecia everyday and I am just learning these facts about side effects)

I am worried that if in case he does come inside, can it damage my sex organs???? If he can produce a baby with deformed sex organs, could his ejaculate damage me and my ability to produce a normal baby in the future?

thank you

I dont think so, but regardless, BE AWARE!!, namely with respect to Propecia and your boyfriend taking it. Make him stop!
If you care about him, make him get off of the poison. Its literally what it is, POISON! It is medically proven to “kill” your prostate. If you or he dont believe me, I will show you the medical literature.
Would you take a medicine for cosmetic purposes that killed the cells of your uterus, tell me that.
Sorry, but its truth maam! Good luck!

Finasteride is listed as a Category X drug – it is tetragenic to developing fetuses.

The main concern is if you get pregnant, then your partner continues using Finasteride and ejaculating inside without a condom while the fetus is developing – it could potentially lead to birth defects. Same goes for if you come into contact with crushed pills during the pregnancy.

The best solution would be for him to quit Finasteride prior to having a child. If he doesn’t want to quit, use of condoms are a must. I would advise you to convince him to quit the medication irregardless, of course.

Back in 2000 (I had been on Propecia for about 2 years at that time) I had a girlfriend who suddenly had her right ovary and uterine tube rupture one night about 2 months after we started having sex. She had to have emergency surgery to have them removed that night. We used to have sex without condoms all the time but I never fully ejaculated inside her however I don’t know how much of my sperm was released before ejaculation and also she did swallow my ejaculate quite often. The doctor at the time didn’t say what the cause was but after all the crap that I’ve been through for the past year and 5 months I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it had to do with Fin. I have read somewhere that there is a trace amount of Fin found in the semen of the guys who take it. Sorry I don’t have any links to back that up but my story is 100% true. I would try to do more research and if it’s true that Fin is in fact in the semen (even at a trace level) I’d say use a condom every time and never consume his ejaculate (not even put it on your skin or in your mouth).

Markus after reading your post is it okay to think now that I am not over reacting to this question i posted on here…

this is freaking me out, I have not gotten to the point to ask him to quit, but did casually bring it up, he says he has been taking it for ten years! One thing for sure is that I never want to have kids with him, even if he stops taking it it could still damage the baby, right?

I’m so confused I don’t know what to do, He is such a good hearted person and great BF I don’t want to break up with him, I can’t live forever with no sex life.

i’ve been with him 2 months and he has very minimal interest in sex, I used to not understand why and now I think its because of the diminished libido from the pills

No, damage theoretically may only occur after conception if the woman comes into contact with crushed pills, or theoretically if he’s still on the drug and trace amounts of semen are ejaculated inside while you’re pregnant (though supposedly it’s such a minute amount its far below the threshold to have any effect). Also remember that this drug has been in use since 1992 so if there were major cases of birth defects I’m sure we would probably have heard about it… I would hope.

I would not preclude having children with him based on his usage of Finasteride – if it is that important to you to have kids, I would ask him to stop BEFORE trying to concieve, for increased fertility (sperm) reasons.

Well, this is the problem with Finasteride for a lot of men – hair or sex. Seems thus far he has chosen his hair… but what good is it if he has no interest in sex? If your relationship becomes very serious and leads to marriage I would hope he’d give up the pills in order to regain his sex drive and satisfy you… and hopefully before marriage too, if you can convince him it’s worth it (you or hair).
