Quercitin

Hello guys,

some days ago I was at work and I was surfing the net looking for some news about finasteride sides effects, therapies, etc. I found a web page where a guy wrote that he had recovered using quercitine and that he started taking again finasteride 'cause his hair loss grew up intensely(he’s mad, but that’s not the point).

I had to shut suddenly the page, but I couldn’t find it anymore. Anyone of you has read the same page and/or any page where the quercitine’s effects for post-fin users are explained?

Thank you for your help.

Do a search for “quercetin” on this site, it’s been discussed before.

I’m sorry, I just misspelled it. That’s why I didn’t find it.

Could you post a link to the site where the person claimed he recovered from fin using quercetin?

i wish people would get off the quercitin bandwagon…I went on it and it did nothing for me at all…

Ditto, I heard a lot about Q from a doctor. Tried it. Felt like placebo.

What is the science behind using quercetin to treat fin problems? i know that it is an anti-inflammatory so is it only helpful if you have an inflamed prostate, or chronic prostatitis? And how do you know if you have this?

My guess is it would be quite painful.

Some web sites claim quercetin is a aromatase inhibtor (lowers estrogen). Here’s one, but I’ve seen it on other sites also. There is so much mis-information on the web, but who knows:

I’ve also seen it on some web sites that quercetin is a PDE-5 inhibitor (i.e. Viagra):

I’ve been taking quercetine for over a year now, cycled of course, and it’s done nothing but help me. I’ve not had one negative experience taking either that or DIM. I’ve been making good steady progress for quite some time on my regimine. And yes, there are studies that say each of these things does TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. I listen to how I feel after taking each one. I don’t believe Quercetin or DIM to be negative for us. Not based on my good experiences. If they were, I would have never gotten to the level of functionality that I’m at now. It would have been impossible.

Found this interesting info on quercetin, that is may be an inhibitor of arginase. I was not familiar with arginase, but here is what wikipedia says of it:

Not too sure where to post this, as I’m kind of double teaming both prostate problems and sexual problems.

I recently went to a Uroligist, who was of much help, he berrated me for using anabolic steroids and basically told me that due to adding so many chems to my body it was unclear as to what is effecting me. Fin or the roids.

He felt that any issues I may have had from fin were greatened by my use of synthetic test. Needless to say he wasn’t very enthusiastic about possible PCT’s or Dopamine agonist therapy.
He was not convinced or enthused either about possible iodine treatment that has had positive effects for a few members on the forum.

He actually thought I should wait another 6 months (on top of the year I have already been waiting) and wait and see if my endocrine system recovers naturally.

Regardless of that fact, he wasn’t too discouraging about a cycle of quercetin. Which is where my possible recovery begins.

I have been taking the bio-flavenoid for roughly 3 weeks now, I noticed some marked inprovement in my frequent/constant urinary problems. I can actually have a large drink now and rarely need to pee. I have noticed moderate random erections also.

The thing that sparked off the biggest glimmer or hope, however, occured this weeked; while having a sexual dream, I had a discharge. In otherwords, I had an adult wet dream.

Does any one else think this is a positive sign?? Could my neurosteroids be booting up again? Is my endocrine system recovering due to the re-generating prostate?

I know it’s early days, and this could be a honeymoon period on the supplement, and I plan to take at least an 8 week cycle. But could this be the beginning of the end of my issues??

It’s a positive sign that there’s some change, however it’s like climbing a slippery slope that you’ve seen many people fall from before. Keep your fingers crossed and expectations low, hopefully something good will come out of it. Hope for the best, plan for the worst so to speak.

Let us know what happens. Cheers.

I don’t see your blood work but if your e2 and T were in acceptable ratios and you’re still hypogonadal I wonder why he would question the most likely fact that Fin caused your problems. Also as a urologist he should have some idea about the possible side effects of androgen ablation. I can’t find anything suggesting quercetin would have an effect on neurosteroids. It is said to have have anti-inflammatory effects. While I don’t subscribe at all to the idea PFS is caused by inflammation maybe those substances change the expression of some of the genes effected in at least in some slightly benefical way.

I haven’t posted any blood work as currently the National Health Service in the UK won’t give me a full blood pannel, I only have bloods responsible for sexual hormones. The only real issue that can been seen with those is that my T is in the mid lower range and that my free T is low (out side of range). Which could be results of using synthetic testosterone.

My thought was that since the prostate and DHT are closely related, the new health of my prostate could be encouraging DHT which is effecting my neurosteoids. But this is an uneducated best guess.

I’m not jumping the gun just yet, but I’ll keep a positive outlook. TBH even if I pee less frequently at the end of all this I’ll be happy.

Is it 5-a inhibator?
How many people had a sucsses with it?

How much quercitine should i take per day?
Where to buy it? And which form?
