PUBLISHED: DR. IRWIG'S CLINICAL STUDY ON PERSISTENT SEXUAL SIDE EFFECTS

Any news from this study yet?

I would like to thank you Dr Irwig, Mew, Awor, JN and other members who have participated
and make this study into reality.

I am very happy because its about time the world hear about our stories and hopefully this
study could be a turning point and make a ripple effect in the researcher community around
the world in trying to understand what really happened to all of us.

Is the research now completed? Whats the news on this? Anybody know? I haven’t received any emails or anything.

dr irwig listed on the forum that he has gathered enough information, but it will take 6-12 months to publish.

I’m also getting anxious about Dr. Irwig’s study after reading the lastest theory from Dr. Jacobs. The fact that we finally have a real study going on to try to determine what is wrong with us gives me some hope. I only hope that Dr. Irwigs final paper includes at least one case study where whatever theory he comes up with is tested in a clinical setting with positive results.

After 3 1/2 years I’m starting to consider TRT, but think I will hold out until the study results are published. I don’t want to go down that road with the chance that there will be an alternate path in the near future.

It just ocurred to me that it could be useful to study men who took finasteride and claim to have no side effects on the drug or after discontinuation. If we found whats different about us and these men it would be a first step towards a cure. Does anyone know if this is part of Dr. Irwin s study?

I have taken part in Dr Irwigs study, and was contacted this morning. It was pretty quick and simple and he seems like a nice doctor. It was quite a relief talking to a professional doc who wants to understand this problem.

Hope something good comes from this for all of us.

Has anyone gone to see Dr. Irwig for treatment at his andrology clinic? He is located in Washington DC.

Did you go?

If so, How did it go?

Is the study still open?

its ongoing.

i live in india.can i still participate in the study?

Yes you can…Do it!

Does anybody happen to know what’s going on with Dr. Irwigs study? Has he started it yet?

Does anyone know if Dr Irwig has is planning an actual clinical study and when he might start on such a study?

Also, I’m wondering if he would try to use some of the information on this board to try to determine some of the particulars for the test. I know there is a lot of mixed information on here. However, we have made a lot of connections in terms of hormones that are typically skewed in PFS men. Hopefully he can get something from this site. There’s tons of blood panels on here.

Boston i spoke with him last week, he is still gathering info. He said everyone who participated will be informed when something is released, we’re in the loop mate.

Tim I was referring more to a clinical study, where they would begin testing hormones and tyring to get to the bottom of what happened to us. The initial study that is going to be released, was just basic questions to provide some validity to the medical community that this PFS does exist.

Recently did my phone interview with Dr Irwig. I finally managed to build up enough courage without bursting into tears.

He seems like a really caring, professional and intelligent individual. He is also very interested in our problems and has so far interviewed ~100 men. I would encourage anyone who has not yet done so to take part to give the study more influence.

Can you still sign up?

Its ongoing last I knew. Yes please contact him if you meet the criteria.
