Sounds like you might have administered yourself too much of the drug. Best game plan is to start out with small dosages and slowly ramp up to find a ‘sweet spot’ that is effective for your purposes while limiting any side effects that would detract from that.
So use a little less and have less nausea, but also less of an erection? My gripe with PT 141 isn’t really the nausea, the lobster skin tone, and the overall light headed weird feelings prior to the erection. My beef is that it doesn’t do a damn thing for libido/desire. In fact, I think it made my libido even worse, if possible. The drug is being promoted as somehow different than the ED drugs because it’s supposed to work on whatever it is in the brain that increases desire…and it doesn’t. For me it was a huge disappointment, but if other forum members want to try it, maybe they will have a different result.
Well another alternative that one in your position may want to consider (if there is still a need) may be melanotan II (the original peptide that PT-141 was derived from). It sounds like you had a pretty negative experience. It makes one wonder if it was the drug or perhaps just a poor quality batch that you had? Bremelanotide was reported to positively enhance libido in both men and women in trials of it. Obviously for women there is no erection so unlike for men it is doubtful that they’d ever confuse mechanical changes for libido changes. Libido enhancement for a female subject was reported in this video youtube.com/watch?v=0g6QXkE68io about melanotan II as well in phase I & II human trials in men.
Not to say that I’m not interested in this possibility, but why do we have a pharma rep promoting another drug here?? Or is Melatonan just another concerned citizen?
I am not a pharma rep. Melanotan II is not a drug being developed by any pharmaceutical company anywhere. If I were a rep. for Palatin which is developing bremelanotide would I be talking about melanotan II as I have? I happen to be very informed about melanocortin peptides and am happy to share my knowledge in places where individuals are discussing this class of peptide hormones.
Not quite sure what the pertinence is of this question. If I am discussing topics related to a medical issue that I am experiencing I don’t limit myself to only discussing the topics with others who are also experiencing the issue. I have no desire to annoy you as it appears I am doing. I saw a topic of discussion about which I am informed and wished to help inform others about the topic. With that I will exit this discussion.
May you be successful in overcoming the issue(s) that you may find yourself plagued with.
The trials were done on normal people. Normal people get aroused pretty easy when exposed to the right stimuli. Normal people have normal wiring. The problem we have is that we almost never FEEL aroused because of the damage finasteride has done to our bodies. This drug is great for triggering whatever it is to enhance bloodflow to the genitalia. As far as that goes, it’s almost magical.
Our dysfunction is more psychogenic in nature. And if you read forums of people who have tried this drug who have similar symptoms, it has a very poor success rate.
Well Joetz, you were right about the stuff. I happend to get it yesterday. Depsite inhaling it like I was going to do, I realized I still have insulin needles from when I was giving myself B12 shots when I was at my worst, before raw and fasting. So, injected it but at half the recommended dose of 1mg. I figured also if I did have a good reaction to it, I could get 20 doses out of one $40 bottle as opposed ot one or two doses inhaling it.
Anyway, shot it, and started feeling really hot and buzzing like feelings. I did have the urge for sex, but is somehow felt fake, or synthetic, I guess cause it was. I really didn’t like the feeling. It did give me a great hard on though, like you mentioned. If I could get the boner without the fake buzzy, flushed feeling, I would continue to use it.
I also started makeing myself anxious by messing with myself again using chemicals. I just thought,“haven’t you learned enough already.” Nothing good can come from altering yourself like that.
So, all in all:
Great hard on
Lasts a day and a half
But:
Makes you feel weird
raises blood pressure, which causes prolonged flushing
makes you buzzy internally
Mild stomache upset
I won’t be taking it again. I’m glad I only took a half dose too.
cdnutz maybe you should try 1/8 dose? It could be that we are oversensitive to it like everything else and therefore need much less… I would try but I don’t have enough time to order it before I leave the country again…
Perhaps I can add some useful information. PT-141 is supposed to act on receptors within the melanocortin system. This system is believed to be at the root of several desires, including hunger, libido, cortisol/ACTH management (starting to sound familiar? ) etc. Much more information is available here:
I have more detailed lists of what each receptor does and will post them when I get a chance. Zinc is a melanocortin receptor agonist (aid) but is is also a 5 alpha reductase type 2 inhibtor of moderate strength, so be cautious about what these substances do.
From my limited understanding, excessive yawning and nausea are known common side effects of PT 141. I have a couple of early research papers on PT 141 and will see what I can glean from them. Did not think it was released into the wild yet, so to speak.
Could I also suggest that we NOT scare off peptide chemists or any other medically or biologically trained persons who show up here and try to help us? One should not have to be post-fin just to participate on this board.
Are you sure zinc inhibits 5AR? Many people are taking that to raise libido and strength? It’s also needed for proper function…
And, how do you know that guy was a chemist, biologist or anyone with any merit and not just some shill trying to push product? Wouldn’t he have mentioned that?
I’m trying to wrap my head around this one. I’ve googled around a bit, and I find studies that say zinc inhibits 5AR, and then I find studies that say it’s necessary for optimum male health? Which is it? I can’t see how something necessary for health could be bad for you?
You’re experience mirrors mine. It gives you a hard on, but it’s a hard on with all kinds of really crappy, weird, dizzy, and not-quite-right sensations. I know a lot of people were holding out for a miracle and I hate to kill everyone’s hopes and dreams, but this is not our magic bullet that will slay this thing once and for all.
Please, will you consider taking a very minor dose of this stuff to try again? Like 1/8 of what you took before to see if there is any positive effect? I think there is possibility that the dosage you took was way too much considering what fin has done to us…
I think if anything, we would need to take MORE of the drug because of what fin has done to us. But from the way the drug felt in my system, I imagine I would just feel an 1/8 of the side effects and less of an erection if I lowered the dose.
many of us are VERY SENSITIVE to chemicals and substances of all natures after taking fin. If we have become hyper-sensitized why would we need to take more?
you are making an assumption about the effect of the reduced dosage without any proof. Often when one takes too much of a substance they lose the positive benefits and the “side effects” dominate the experience. How can you tell you didn’t take too much? You cannot! You’re assuming you know exactly how you would react on a lesser dose.
considering our current state, and the reduced dosage, what do you have to lose by trying 1/8 of the dose?
