Has anyone thought about treating the prostate (not for prostatitis). Fin was designed to decrease prostate size. Maybe for those having side effects this is the original cause.
This may sound crazy, but has anyone thought about giving the prostate a dose of DHT to see if it revives it? Of course you’d have to go to the doctor to try this out, but any thoughts?
Maybe if we can “reawaken” the prostate we can reverse the hormonal imbalances.
Please someone tell me we’re closer to finding a good treatment/cure. I don’t know how long I can go like this. When is the data from the big study due? What will this tell us?
You’ve only been off for a short time. Hopefully your sides will resolve over time, you need to give it some time.
By the looks of it unfortunately they wont. Seems like once you crash, your screwed for a long time.
Also, I’ll mention that I was masturbating a lot (2-3 a day) before I crashed as I see that is an important note to make.

I think this further points to DHT overwhelming our system/prostate.
If there is something wrong with our 5ar enzyme or DHT receptors, can’t gene therapy work for us? Gene therapy has been making big strides and I think they’re already using it to treat some diseases.
Isn’t this worth looking at? And guys, sorry if I sound desperate, but I’m young and I had a bright future ahead of me. I want us all to overcome this and given the speed of the development of medical technologies, I know we can find a way to fix this. If they can regrow and transplant organs, which they can, I believe doctors/scientists can fix us. We just need enough brain power and resources to do it. Thanks to Mew, awor, and the other active members I’m hoping we’ll make big strides in the next year.
Also, does the big molecular grade study look at 5AR and DHT receptor gene expression? At least this way we can find out if mutation/down-regulation is the source of our troubles? I’m having a hard time finding the page for the study, can someone send it to be please?
Dgreene, you might be OK with some time. Try to keep calm and maybe try your best to put it to the back of your mind at least for a month or two. I was the same when i first joined, and still am really.
The study is coming in good time. The results are likely only a week or two away so try and be patient, there is little point in speculation at this point. If the study reveals something, then we’ll be able to look at different treatment strategies. If the study doesn’t reveal anything, then we’ll need to look elsewhere.
I can assure you you are not unique in these regards.
Has there been any talk in terms of gene therapy? If results show a mutated/downregulated gene then I feel gene therapy is our best option at this point. But I dont know how soon it can be applied to our situation.
You are getting way ahead of yourself. Just wait for the results.
Dgreene, i hate to break it to you mate, but it sounds like you are probably screwed like the rest of us! 
Best thing you could do now is to try clear your head, sit down and draw up a plan of action to put your life together again. It’s a painfully slow process, but I personally believe that it is possible, much to the dismay of most people on the forum.
The only other advice I have is don’t read anything MartinM says 
It is early days yet for him, he could find significant improvement in comings weeks or months. Dgreene, this is obviously weighinh heavily on your mind, perhaps its best to take a break from the site and see how things go for you over time. In meantime maybe get bloodwork to see where your hormones are at.
Mew, I agree with you. I’m going to take a break from this site. But I just want you to check this out. If indeed we have “permanent” damage, I feel as though there may be hope for us within the decade.
That is for type 1 diabetes - an illness that affects millions worldwide. Do you honestly think there going to hand out gene therapy to ‘post finasteride’ sufferers? come off it man.
This is an idea worth trying, well atleast finding some way of testing 5a-dht in the prostate.
Has anyone talked about this with their doctor?
