Apparently if you are on finasteride they ask you not to donate blood - fear of birth defects.
Kazman, I have never heard of this. While It might be true, I would say that source you sited is not a reliable source.
No I read this in a couple of places too, it’s true.
This is definitely true. I have a blood donation folder in which they list about a dozen drugs, that if you have taken them you are required to disclose it. Finasteride is one of them.
Sorry, they are saying if you have EVER taken Fin you cant donate or if you are ON Fin at the time of donation you cant?
Which is why I started the post with the word “apparently”. Wanted to know if anyone had ever heard of this.
Since I did post a somewhat less than credible source, I will call the Red Cross tomorrow and see what they say.
The original source indicates if you are on Propecia they ban you from donating blood.
