Their revenue from Propecia is slowing down year over year…Looking at Proscar, it has declined SIGNIFICANTLY which is pretty much the same drug…

Propecia and proscar combined attributes about 700+ million a year in revenue to their earnings. This is something Merck would not want to lose, thus why they are ignoring this website and victims of this drug.

In summary, something more has to be done to promote awareness. Revenues from propecia shouldn’t be going up, they should be going down. I hope people who are considering using this drug realized the amount of grief, sadness and depression it has caused to many people who took this drug.

Just like garadisil and vioxx, merck’s refuses to claim responsibility until it’s too late and lives are at stake. Think for a minute, Merck is a company that produces roughly 23 billion dollars of revenue per year…700+ million of that is from proscar/propecia…That is roughly about 3-4% of their earnings. 3-4% of revenue is very significant.

Saw my primary care doc for a physical recently. He noted that all the advertisements for Propecia had disappeared from the media a few years ago, and that the Merck reps no longer seemed to be pushing Proscar at all… He did not seem at all surprised when I told him that fin had been the starting point for my 5+ year run with secondary hypogonadism.
