Propecia approval meeting transcript

I’m surprised the transcript of the FDA - Merck Propecia approval process (in finasteride studies) has only been downloaded 41 times (at least three of them are me): it’s a fairly shocking mix of lies and regulatory ineptitude.

A drug which powerfully alters essential male hormones and who did the FDA choose to analyse and question Merck’s ‘data’? That’s right, a bunch of dermatologists. Thankfully Merck decided to bring some uros and endos, bless them.

Here’s a taste of what that muthafukka Keith Kaufman had to say, only a few pages in:

“Finasteride was a logical choice as a potential therapy for men with androgenetic alopecia. This was based on its being a highly specific Type II 5-alpha-Reductase inhibitor. Finasteride is not an anti-androgen, and it has no affinity for the androgen receptor. Thus, it does not block the beneficial and necessary physiological roles of testosterone when administered to men.”

Blatant lies easily disproved by studies elsewhere on this forum.

I believe i read it but only briefly.

That bolded quote says it all really. The whole thing is a farse, top to bottom.

where did you download it? Please post a link.
