Probiotics/Digestive Enzymes

Hey guys,

Wanted to share something that helped me… I was reading about Chillns’ hormone and cortisol boosting at the allthingsmale site and most of it involved pregnenalone. Sincethis requires a script, I was hoping I could try something else. He mentioned something along the lines of using probiotics and digestive enzymes to speed up your metabolism… A diet overdrive.

Take a probiotic first thing in the a.m. well before food and one at bedtime, long after food. Take digestive enzymes with your meals. So, that’s what I tried. I took a Natural Factors acidopholous, 8 billion, twice a day… and two 500 mg Now Super Enzymes with lunch and dinner. Hardly groundbreaking stuff.

I’ve probably been doing this for 6 weeks at least and in that time I no longer needed cialis and my penis is fuller, both soft and erect. I still have a lingering problem of delayed ejaculation, but, at least I can maintain one for hours.

The improvement I have made leads me to believe we do have to address the adrenals first. My thyroid/TSH comes back between 3 to 4 and I do have hypothyroid symptoms. Problem is I am in the normal range of the labs, but, there are plenty of expert panels saying anything over 3 should be out of range. My next step is to bitch to n Endo about it.

Back to the probiotics/digestive enzymes, I recommend it to anyone and everyone… it’s a cheap and I would think harmless experiment.

Great news man. Im glad to hear your feeling much better… which probiotic and digestive enzymes are you taking??

Thought they were 4 billion capsules, but, they are 5 billion probiotics… and I take 2 in the morning and night. Natural Factors 5 Billion Acidopholous and Bifidus. The digestive enzymes are Now brand Super Enzymes. Basically, increase the dose til you start to get the diarrhea, then drop down a bit. The bottle says you can take 3 with each meal, but, that might be a liitle much.

Excellent news man, I hope you continue improving!

Have you thought about doing the hormones 101 procedure to speed up your metabolism? Pregnenolone > T3 > T4.

I see my urologist next week he did a cystoscopy a few months ago and blood work. I was sent away with a script for levitra, which had more sides and was less effective than the cialis my doc prescribed. Took it once and that was it.

I plan on telling him about some hypothyroid symptoms and asking him my TSH number. Even if it’s in range, I know it will be higher end… and that’s a bs standard. I doubt he would treat my thyroid or adrenals. My goal is an Endo referral.

Chilln really makes it sound like you need the preg and you can’t just jump into thyroid meds. I’ll talk it over with the Endo. I’ve been pretty damn close to recovering more than a few times in the last year and a half. I think this is working the best and is a step in the right direction.

Sometimes none of this makes sense. I have thought I was recovered twice in the last 7 months and one of the brief recoveries was when I was really abusing my body, the other was when I came OFF pregenenolone after running it for about a week.

bluejays, are you dieting at all?

This stuff looks pretty powerful;

I’m a fast food junkie… Try to eat mostly chicken and lay off the fries, burgers. Fruits and veggies are kind of limited. I’m trying to eat more salmon these days.

I drink lots of water, decaf coffee, the odd green tea.

I’ve never had a problem with my weight, probably the reason I don’t eat better.

I’m kind of the same way…

“First” as in what “second”…?

Im interesting in Dr Shippin, i understand Chilln’s protocol.

You said Shippin wants you to start with T3. Then get on preg after that? What is Dr Shippin’s ideas??

You could mention the pregnenolone but I would just follow Shippens advice. What has he prescribed you T3 for? do you have thryoid problems?

Interesting.

You still didn’t completely answer me. Did he mention any additional ideas? I assume he didn’t mention preg then?

Last question: what dosage of t3 was he advocating? Im surprised he mentioned it without seeing bloods. I’m very interested here as my body temp is low, too.

Youngbuck,

Did you happen to do get a 24 hr cortisol test? I have many hypo symptoms including a temp that usually peaks at 97.4. I have to read it over, but, I believe Chilln figures we would have to address cortisol issues first or at the same time with thyroid meds. Not saying he is right or wrong, but, a 24hr saliva cortisol test may show adrenal issues.

Mine is slightly high in the a.m. and a little low til bedtime. I believe there have been many guys here who tried thyroid meds and maybe a few were successful. I’m in the same boat, hoping thyroid meds alone could solve everything… but, the more I think about, the less positive I am.

I wouldn’t be surprised if 2/3rds of the people here have hypo symptoms and that is based on nothing but a guess. It’s strange that I see many different TSH scores though.

Good luck with everything/anything you try.

Very strange. Just finished a ten day course of tetracycline for folliculitis. It seemed to stop any new little red bumps and the old ones are almost gone… but, while I was on the a/b’s, the erection quality and duration was not near as good. No morning erections either, penis not as full looking.

I had stopped taking the probiotics while on tetracycline, but, continued with fewer than normal digestive enzymes. The last 2 days I have been back on the probiotics… a new kind, 11 strains yada yada, supposed to be good said the naturopath… and this morning and through the night, return of the wood.

Penis looks good again. Wondering if it’s adrenals that the probiotics are boosting… Or are they taking away some inflammation in the lower region. I don’t know, but, I definitely seemed to have a neg response, penis wise, while on tetracycline.

Here’s Chillns’ take on how protease, cellulose can treat Candida.

For some reason I stopped taking dig enzymes… think it was because I got on cialis. Anyways, started back on them a week ago thinking maybe it’s not a metabolic rate thing, but, a fungal thing that they help with.

A few days ago I had sex all day. Easy erections and hard. Just like I was on cialis when it was working like it was supposed to. Only I had much more sensitivity.

The guys thinking of trying antifungals should give digestive enzymes a go.

Here’s the kind I have:

When will you people stop with these utter and complete bullshit “candida” theories? These enzymes obviously must be having a beneficial effect only because of some epigenetics-effecting mechanism. They are most likely HDAC inhibitors, and if they aren’t, then it must be some kind of demethylating property or whatever else hat can fit into the epigenetics theory (the only one that’s admins-approved)

Nice post. I stopped taking digestive enzymes too but just ordered some.

When do you guys take the digestive enzymes? 15 mins before food? With food? Additional, therapeutic doses in between meals?
