predisone

I just did a search on this site for predisone and aside from my two post on this topic there was only one other post. Has anyone had experiences with this drug. I remember about two years ago I had a really bad sore throat and the doctor gave me a shot of predisone and the following night I had an awesome nocturnal erection. It seems this is the go to drug for doctors for several types of illness one may suffer. So I am asking if anyone has had experience with this drug and / or ones thoughts on this drug. If the enlarged prostrate theory and the pressure on the nerver theory hold true this seems like a possible treatement.

P.s. I once was prescribed the typical 10 day treatment of predisone pills for a another sore throat and this had no affect on PFS at all. Only the shot seemed to help temporalily and maybe that could have been a fluke.

Actually I can’t be sure if it was the pills or the shot that gave me a great nocturnal erection. It has been some time ago and then again it could have been something else. But I am still curious on anyone’s experience with this drug. It is a powerful drug from my understanding. It is a strong anti-inflamatory.

I was just reading up somemore on predisone and it says it can suppress your immune system. So, I know the theory of anti-bodies is floating around out there as well. So maybe predisone could have an affect here too. Someone on this forum must have had experience with predisone?

The actual spelling is prednisone, try searching that

Whoops, my bad. Thanks for pointing that out to me. What do you think of prednisone treatment?

Personally i was hit very hard by the side effects, (badly blurred vision, sweating, headaches, muscle pains etc.) to notice anything else, but there was no difference in my condition from pre prednisone to post prednisone.

If you do use, make sure you ween off over 2-3 weeks because it will heavily suppress your adrenal glands.

Never use it without an antibiotic. It may get you worse without an antibiotic because it suppresses the immune response and worsens the infection. If you take it with Cipro, watch out for the effect! But don’t exceed 10 mg of prednisone daily while on Cipro because of the risk of cartilage erosion or tendon rupture.

any has any updates on prednisone?
