  1. What (if any) treatments have you undertaken to recover from your side effects since discontinuation of the drug? None yet…this all just started.

  3. Anything not listed in the above questions you’d like to share about your experience with Finasteride?

  4. Tell us your story, in your own words, about your Finasteride usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.

I didn’t experience any side effects while using the drug for 8 years. Now that I stopped taking the drug, the side effects have kicked in dramatically over the past week (I stopped taking the drug a few weeks ago). I’m now completely freaked out and feel depressed for the first time in my life. I’m scheduled to see my primary care doctor tomorrow and I’m very pessimistic after reading the stories on this site.

The common recommendation is to give it more time. See where you’re at in a month or so and try not to let this consume you. Stress and worry aren’t going to help you out. Most men’s side effects will resolve.

Also, if you’re going to a doctor anyway be prepared to deal with someone who’s not going to believe that Finasteride can do this to you. A couple of excerpts from some of the doctors and experts that have touched on the topic can go a long way, but most doctors won’t know how to deal with this regardless.

Most importantly, like I said before, is to stay as positive as you can let yourself be. Don’t think about this site. Check back into this forum in a few weeks with an update.

im going through exactly what youre going through right now…any updates?

I look forward to updates from you two. I hope that you both recover in good time.
