post experiences with L-arginin

Hi mates,

I bought caps of L-arginin (brand: Weider). By written label one should take 5000mg (5 caps.) before training or before breakfast. That reccomended dosage is, at the same time, upper limit for 1 day.

I am very courious (from users who experienced this amino-acid) to find out does it help for our symptoms, and if so: which dosage they took it , does it need to be cycled for better effect and which brand they had. So, I am adressing to them (and to all interested in this subject) to write their report.

Allegedlly, Weider (Germany) is very fammiliar and recognized company for such kind of supplements.

Cheers to all,

Desperado.

A couple of erections for a day or two. Then nothing and still nothing from l-arg.

Helps increase NO to promote erections. Should be cycled, or even avoided if you are prone to cold sores (im in the latter category).

Good luck!

For me, 500mg or 1gm before bed on empty stomach can lead to more vivid dreams and deeper sleep. Can also help with erectile rigidity for some.

Cycle to not build tolerance.

I appreciate advices in sense that L-arginine has to be cycled, in order not to grow tolerance on it.

Next question: which are the best cycling optinons? i.e. 1 month, 1 week, every 2 days. Please some more info.

D.

Perhaps 1-2 per fortnight. For me an easy tolerance was gained, so use sparingly is my advice.

I tried cycling it by taking 500mg every few days. I felt no improvement at all. I also tried increasing the dosage and changed the pattern of days that I took it and felt nothing.

i’m taking l-arginine to try to defeat penile fibrosis, i’m taking 5 grams before bed and cycling it with other drugs/supplements. Are 5 grams too many? I read somewhere that it is the exact dosage for fibrosis, but i read here you take just 1 gram.

I have started to experiment with L-Arginine over the past month or so, taking between 1 and 2 grams per day. Since then, I would say that my erections are slightly more rigid but sensation has not improved. The ‘fibrosis’ or structural irregularities have also improved slightly but this could be due to the fact that more rigid and full erections are covering up the abnormalities. There are a handful of experiments that show that most men with ED due to low NO levels show improvement after two weeks on a 5g daily dose and I will eventually ramp up to this dose.

As a side note, I have been advised by a doctor who is a personal contact that this is a must try supplement though was not informed about the need to cycle to avoid building a tolerance. L-Citrulline is similarly an amino acid that is a precursor to nitric oxide and supposedly studies show that this supplement is preferable since it does not break down before it is absorbed by the relevant tissues.

I think L-Arginine (and perhaps L-Citrulline) are must try supplements for all with PFS since they are fairly cheap, safe, and should directly affect the erectile mechanism (even more so than Viagra and other pills).

You have been informed here differently, however if you choose to take your personal contact’s advice please keep a journal and report your experience back here on the forum from time to time.

I followed up today specifically on the question of cycling L-Arginine and got the individual responded that they didn’t see any reason to cycle the supplement and it might be detrimental to do so. For whatever you may value it, the person I asked is a physician that has taken a personal interest in PFS and is nearly as informed as any of us could reasonably expect.

Personally, I will choose to pursue a course of about 3g daily (maybe up to 5g) for an extended period of time and would support this method for others based on the existing evidence.

For those who are interested, L-arginine works in a similar way to Viagra but from the opposite direction. L-Arginine is an amino acid that eventually becomes cGMP, a molecule that causes smooth muscle in the penis to relax which allows inflow of blood and an eventual erection. Viagra inhibits PDE-5 which is an enzyme that breaks down cGMP.

No results for me

He may not know that people have already tried taking l-arginine and developed a tolerance. Good luck and I’m looking forward to reading about your experience.

That was taken into consideration. It is very difficult for an individual to determine whether or not he has actually developed a tolerance to a treatment entirely on his own.

Again, please don’t change your baseline, keep a journal, and let us know how it goes.

I am taking 3g of L-arginin at the moment and I have taken it in the past. It helps increase NO levels. I had some improvements while on it: slightly better and firmer morning erections and some nocturnal erections. The scientists who have discovered L-arginin and its effects have won the nobel prize.
I have taken it for an extended period and then stopped; now I am on it again. It is just because I need an alternative to PDE5 inhibitors. I will also use PDE5 inhibitors on the next step before I go to bed to increase NO levels.

keepup do u have fibrosis/ shrinkage or you use l-arginina/pde5 inhibitors just for erectile dysfunction?

I use l arginin for erectile dysfunction. In the past half year my penis also shrunk (it was due to Tamoxifen I think).
However, recently l arginin hasen’t helped a lot. I have almost no morning erection and if they are very weak. I don’t know what’s going on with me.
