Yeah, this petition was started all the way back in August 2013, yet it’s attracted hundreds of signatures in the last week so the target keeps getting higher. 1,000 signatures would be quite a statement!
Can one of the mods perhaps email all members the link so that they sign it too, or at least link to it clearly on the home page? We have over 3,000 members on the forum, so 3,000 should be an absolute minimum target in my opinion.
I’m doing my bit by posting on Reddit and I think I’m gonna target hair loss forums and perhaps places like 4chan, body building sites etc.
Let’s keep this going.

I contacted the petition author to find out what his story is. Obviously the more people who sign the better, but we do need to get it delivered to Merck or aim for media attention at some point, whether it’s 1k, 3k or 10k signatures.

Possibly. I mean, the petition is great but the numbers are still far too low. For some perspective, the UK government have a petition website which suggests that petitions at minimum of 100,000 signatures might be considered for debate in parliament:(http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/)
We’re up to 532 on an independent site and we’re petitioning a company that has no absolutely legal responsibility to acknowledge it and in fact every financial incentive not to. I don’t want to sound downbeat but let’s not get too naive. I think our best hope lies with 1) legal action and 1) awareness by getting our stories out via the media.

Millions of people in the UK alone marched against the UK invasion of Iraq in 2003 which led to roughly half a million people dying (bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-24547256). Compare that to our petition; a few hundred unverified people filling in a web form addressed to a company financially incentivised not to act.
That doesn’t mean I think we shouldn’t sign the petition by the way, I’m just being realistic.

Some say the cure exists, as you know. Whether we’re prepared and/or able to work for it might be another matter.
