Hello everybody. I’m new on this forum. Please forgive me for my weak english. I’ve taken Propecia about three years. My hair has stopped to fall out. For three years my libido is quite low and my chest are a little bigger. I’m planning with my wife to try on an baby but we afraid whether baby will be ill (problem with gender etc.). Could you please explain me if my fear will be without reason. Thanks.
Hi Robert,
I am assuming you already quit Propecia. If not, you should not conceive at all before you quit! Now, some of us here have been diagnosed with little sperm motility and/or low sperm count. I think you should ask for a test with your doctor to see how your situation is.
I do think there is a link between birth defects and propecia, more than the male sexual organ formation in the fetus.
Jose Theodore, a player from the Washinton Capitals, had both of his children born with respiratory problems. Unfortunately the youngest did not survive. J. Theodore uses Propecia.

Another case that seems more than coincidence to me is brazilian soccer player Romario. He had 6 normal children from previous marriages and his youngest daughter with new wife was born with down syndrome. His wife was in her twenties, so age was not a risk factor. Romario has admitted to using propecia a couple of years ago.

Where can i do test sperm? What kind of doctor this test do? My friends go to the gym and take many steroids for many years. After thier children are normal. Do you really think to take Propecia can to be bad for my future baby. Have you ever taken propecia when you’re applying for a baby
Robert, nobody here will state you should take Finasteride, especially while trying to conceive.
It sounds like you are still on the drug or looking for arguments that will dissuade you from quitting. Have a read through this:

If you want to continue Finasteride, this is not the forum for you. If you decide to come off, we wish you the best of luck.
Robert026,
First you should quit Propecia. Do it for your health and your future babies health. SInce you are new here, I assume you have no idea how much damage propecia is doing to your own body. This drug has more side effects, than I have time to explain to you. Many of which you will begin to see in future years of taking the drug.
You should go to a uroligist and have them do a test on your sperm. THey can test your sperm count and check the quality of your sperm and determine if there are problems with it.
