Penile changes

After quitting the drug, my genitals went first all tingly and then completely numb and complete ED set in. During the next month or so my genitals got a completely new veiny rugged look that is still present six months later. My uro told me that the physical changes were due to crashed T-levels (as androgens are important for blood flow in penis) and it might get better with time. Has anyone’s gotten better?? This is by far the most mentally devastating side of them all

-skin is darker
-tissue feels and looks more rubbery
-narrowing and loss of length
-new large veins on shaft, old ones are loose as if original tissue is missing
-scrotum wrinkly and loose, extra skin
-two “rings” of hard tissue have appeared on shaft and points now to the left (it does not look like plaque/lump)

Any idea what causes the veins? I remember my genitals being numb to touch, but I did feel stinging pain on the area where the veins emerged. Prostate? TGF-B1?

My main problem is rubbery structure. It is more less a “deca dick syndrom”. It is because DHT is low and elevated progesteron circulates through the body.

I’ve had pretty much all the sames sides, except the rings of tissue. Plus my dick has changed shape, it has a slight curve downward when limp, but a significant curve upward when erect (it used to be relatively straight). It is actually a little painful to get erect now. Very strange and disturbing.

You should see a Urologist, get a doppler ultrasound of your penis to check for Fibrotic tissue/bloodflow changes, since Fin blocked androgens (DHT) which in of itself can lead to fibrosis in the penile tissues.

The fact that you may no longer getting nocturnal/spontaneous erections can create a state of Hypoxia (oxygen deprivation), similar to guys after they have Prostatectomy (we did not have prostate removed but Fin shrinks/involutes/destroys prostate vasculature via cell apoptosis) and do not get erections. If you also had a drop in T to castrate/hypogonadal levels after quitting Fin, penile tissues may undergo apoptosis.

Erections are required to bring in fresh bloodflow into the tissues to keep the smooth muscle fibers working correctly, and prevent fibrosis/collagen deposits (which occurs via upregulation of TGF-Beta, which Finasteride coincidentally upregulates). DHT also mediates Nitric Oxide production, and NO is required to obtain an erection – since Fin blocks DHT, you lower NO/NOS production in penile tissues.

There are guys who have wound up with Peyronie’s Disease after Fin (fibrosis, plaques, bending, painful erections). Do some googling on it, check the Penile Fibrosis section of this site, read the stickies at top of this section, and this study:

Not trying to scare you but at the least you should consider seeing a Urologist and consider a Doppler Ultrasound. I notice you do not have bloodtests so its impossible to know what your androgen status (Total T, Free T, DHT etc) is and if low T levels/other imbalances may be playing a role in your ED.

The good news is, if you are deficient in androgens, treatment is possible and with a restoration to normal levels, tissue changes and thus likely the ED should be reversible.

Tried cialis last night with humble results. Running on cabergoline and cialis should make any healthy man into a horny walking boner, but this is not the case…I am getting extremely worried :frowning:

I think you’ve caught yourself up. Worrying will destroy libido. Try to relax. I know its hard.

Would not be worried if it was “simply” libido/ED, but these physical changes really f*ck my head up. Am trying not to think about it

Onni,

what kind of endo do u see ?

If I remember you are in Finland.

I’m in Paris and the doctor I saw told me the few guys he saw who had problems with finasteride came to be healed with the drugs he gave to them.

I don’t know if you are prone to go to such destinations as Paris or others so as to heal. I think if u were certain it would help you to recover you would certainly do it, but I cannot assure the recovery is certain, of course.

Maybe you should seek some anti aging doctors in Finland if there are some. Or I can ask my doctor if he knows good doctors in you region.

Onni, try doing some sitz baths religiously! It only takes 25 mins per day.

Here is the protocol: Go to Walmart and buy yourself,
-two rubbermaid washbasins tubs (or tub big enough for you to stick your ass in, but I suggest Rubbermaid, and not too big.)
-a kitchen timer/bell
-a thermometer.

You put the tubs in the bathtub side by side. Fill one with HOT water, but careful not to burn yourself, fill the other with cold water.
You then do 6 minutes in the hot water, then 1 minute in the cold water. Go back and forth and do each three times. I forget but ai think you are supposed to end with the cold.
Also, rock back and forth a few times while in the hot water, otherwise the water right next to your skin gets cold right away and then creates an insulating barrier against the hot water thats left in the basin. Also, you are supposed to keep the water at ??? I think it may be 120 degrees, but I will have to check, so have a big cup or receptacle next to you filled with HOT water so that you can pour more hot water down in between your legs when it gets too cold. But be careful not to burn your pee-pee! and rock back and forth.

This provides great great relief, is very healthy for your genitals, increases blood flow, and relieves pelvic congestion.

Try it, I did it for a few weeks and it helped me tremendously.
I will also try to find the link where I found this protocol.

Good luck. This should keep you ok until your plumbing starts working properly again, and also will probably help things recover much faster. It did for me at least.

Alright. I got my last tests. According to my urine and blood tests, I have no infections, have hight T, normal prolactin, TSH, PSA…and everything else. So on paper I am healthy as a horse now (this was not the case after dropping fin). But this problem (and my vision which is under care right now) still persists and I need to get this fixed. As T and LH are fine, my balls seem to still work fine.

I am now on antibiotics and cabergoline. Read up on Dr. Lin’s thoughts and added L-argine, vitamin E and fish oil in my diet.

My whole unit still feels rubbery and these dick changes worry me greatly. Erections are hard to get and maintain even on viagra or Cialis: the old pleasurable feeling is gone and things just don’t work like they used to. The texture and physical form are still “rough” looking and I have a curve to the left and it looks and feels as if it rotated on it’s axis and the base is narrower than before. My dick also feels “distant”. Sounds insane, but unfortunately this is true. Mild feeling of coldness in my scrotum.

My uro felt me up and did not notice any hard plaque but told me that there are many forms of PD. My guess is that there is fibrosis in there, which gives the rubbery feeling and decreases blood flow and is responsible for these other problems.

My plan:
-after taking this course of antibiotics I will request an ultrasound, xray or something that will explain things
-Im taking a small dose of viagra before going to bed to improve nocturnal erections -> increase blood flow
-Wait, if my T is back up and it’s not completely cold and dead like it was, maybe it will fix itself to its former glory?

But what the hell causes this? All I know that when shit really hit the fan it felt and looked like blood circulation to my unit was completely cut off and I had to pee often and had to check if I pissed my pants - disturbing. I’d like to believe it’s prostatitis, but I’m really not sure if that’s the case. Have not read anywhere that prostatitis would cause physical changes. I had hyperprolactinemia after fin and read that women get pigment changes in their genitals and nipples while pregnant - that might explain the darker pigment but not much more.

Has anyone had luck in reversing this? I need my old healthy looking cock back. I liked it.

Yes, a few of the guys in the recovery section had same “cock” symptoms before they eventually recovered.

Dont get all uptight about “tissue changes”. Mew gets people all scared about ‘permanent’ tissue changes, but its bullshit.
Guys have been on here with the same ‘rubbery’ problems for 2+ years, and then recovered.
I know what you mean by what your symptoms are though, I had the same thing, for 10+ months, and still on occassion, but what proves its not permanent is those good days you have, even if they’re few and far between for you at the moment.

Anyway, dont ever beleive that its permanent, because it is definately not, but it just may be a long hard road to recovery, thats all.

Thanks man. As it has already improved massively, so perhaps with adequate blood flow and hormones it will fix itself.

It’s just that i have NEVER heard of anything like this and I know people who got high E and T-levels in the one digit zone after a cycle of steroids. All the best!

I have same thing… It’s a devastating thing :persevere::persevere::persevere:
