Is anyone informed about what was the outcome of the lawsuit carried out by Paul Dawson against Merck?

What happened to him?

He was offered the settlement with the rest of the plaintiffs. I don’t know if he accepted or not. As a reality though, legal recourse is all but wrapped up at this point for new plaintiffs in North America except for one case. Might be different in Europe and other countries though but it is extremely difficult to line something line up something like this.

So was he part of the class action? Because it seems that Reuters is still helping him to push his case.

He was what is called a bellwether case. Out of the entire class, his was scheduled to be one of the first few to actually go to trial to see how the entirety of cases would go. Then there would have likely been a settlement for the whole class after it was a little more clear how strong the whole dispute was for plaintiffs.

Unfortunately, there were some hiccups before Paul Dawson actually went to trial so they settled before a single case went to trial. The interesting documents were filed under Paul Dawson’s case which was separated from the rest. So his case, like all of the others in the same litigation, are now done. Kelly Pfaff was a completely separate matter though in separate court with separate lawyers and separate complaints bc her husband lost his life.
