Panic Attacks Upon Waking

Does anybody know why this happens? Like what is the mechanism in our brains that causes the panic attacks upon waking at the beginning of PFS or during crash periods?

I don’t know if this is helpful, but I used to wake in the middle of the night with my heart pounding and that hasn’t happened for a long time.

I can’t say why it happened, but I can say it passed.

完全同意,恐慌症也已经离我而去了,我记得去年8—11月间,每天早上醒来是个绝对的噩梦,现在什么也没有了

Yeah it passes for me too but when I have mini crashes it starts to happen again. I’m mostly used to it coming and going but it’s just so strange.

Your cortisol is dropping too low at night and your body compensates by raising adrenaline. This causes wired/tired feeling and jolts of adrenaline / panic attacks.

Every now and again I need to take 5mg of cortef before bed or in the middle of the night and it takes care of it. Others may need 7.5mg.

Thank you for providing an actual answer and not the self righteous lecture that is so common around here these days.
