Oprah Should Know Better...

The latest issue of O: The Oprah Magazine features a story titled “7 Fixes for Thinning Hair,” in which NYC dermatologist Fredric Brandt, MD, is cited as follows:

“If you’re past childbearing age, your doctor may suggest a prescription antiandrogen medication, like spironolactone (brand name Aldactone) or finasteride (brand names Propecia and Proscar) off-label.”

Please leave a comment letting Oprah know how irresponsible it is to mention finasteride without mentioning the risks as well, as women can develop PFS as well.

Thanks.

Just bumping this up.

As I have often said, of all the things we CAN do immediately and frequently, leaving such comments if perhaps the most important. In some cases, I realize that editors and writers just ignore us.

But in other cases, they at least refrain from discussing finasteride again without mentioning its many dangers.

So it seems well worth the five minutes it takes to leave comment.
