First of all I am sorry that I am telling my story this soon but the anxiety and panic attacks have made it unable for me to think about anything else.
I took about 1mg of a proscar tab on friday the 2nd of december 2015 and experienced a complete loss of libido and ED the next day. The ED turned into complete impotence the day after quitting.
Next to that my heart-rate is out of control and it feels like I am constantly doing high intensity exercise, because of this I have great difficulty falling asleep and wake up a lot in panic attacks.

What I fear most of all is the possibility of a crash because I do not want to know how serious the issues can become if they are already this bad

Go out and live your life. Odds are in your favor. Come back in a month or if you experience more sides

Here is another guy’s story. 1 dose.

Hi everyone, tomorrow will mark 4 weeks of me being of propecia so here’s an update:

I feel almost normal right now and have made a good recovery over the last 3 weeks, but I’m not there yet completely.
After quitting I experienced what I can only guess is some sort of adrenal fatigue coupled with insomnia, anxiety and sexual side effects.

The sexual side effects recovered completely within 3 days of quitting only to return again on day 7 but slowly recovered from there on out.
At the 3 week mark the erectile dysfunction was gone and most of my libido had recovered.

The problems I continue having are:

  • a disrupted sleep cycle (I wake up every day at 5 a.m for no reason)
  • mild brain fog sometimes
  • slight testicle shrinkage, but this seems to improve on a daily basis.
  • premature ejaculation, I have become overly sensitive to stimulation
  • dry eyes

I’m still wary of stressing my body because I still think the threat of my system crashing is very real so I quit taking any stimulant and cut a lot of sugar out of my diet.
Besides that I’ve had some great comfort in taking magnesium, vitamin c, vitamin d and ashwagandha to help my body cope with the stress.
I also took some zinc supplements but that seemed to make everything a lot worse, especially the sexual side effects at the start so I quit taking that.

Like I said I’m not sure if I will crash in the future but I have a positive outlook on things.
If anything changes I’ll update this thread.

Take care everyone.

Whoever reads this, I recovered completely 5 weeks after quitting.
If you have just quit and this forum is just making you feel worse, please just give it some time.
I felt horrible for about 3 weeks, after that I steadily improved to the point where I didn’t feel like I would crash anymore.

To those still experiencing this hell you have my deepest sympathies.
The days after quitting felt worse than hell and I thought I would never recover.
I will never forget what happened and hope I never will experience it again, this poison changed me forever and I will never take anything for granted from this moment on.
I look back upon my old self and all I can feel is rage for my vanity, how could I have been that stupid? I was a self absorbed jackass who didn’t deserve to recover … but I did.

I am grateful but angry, I will not let merck get away with this and I’ve been warning everyone I could find and I’ve at least got one friend to never try this poison.

To be continued

I’ve had some PM’s asking me to update on my status so here it is:
I recovered 100% so I most likely did not suffer from PFS just had a very bad reaction to the drug,
took me about a week or 3 to feel better and was pretty much the same after 5 weeks.
My testicles didn’t return to normal size after 2 months.

I do have some unusual changes in my body but I’m not sure if I can attribute them to propecia use,
I have the idea that either I produce more DHT or have become more sensitive to it for some reason.

Some of the changes I’ve noticed:
I’ve more or less grown a beard in 1 or 2 months, I had a spotty beard at best before.
Lost weight around the buttocks and chest, had to replace most of my clothes.
Think I’ve become more muscular or muscles are better defined.
My face has become noticeably less round.
Hair loss is starting to get very progressive but I don’t really care about that anymore.
Sex drive is very high, but I think it was like this before

The changes have been a bit concerning because I doubt any hormonal changes besides puberty are good sign, feel otherwise great though.
Best case scenario the changes stay or go back to normal, worst case I crash

I know this probably isn’t the best place to ask but has anyone experienced something similair to this?
Any input is appreciated

This will be my final post since I don’t have PFS.

For all those who are just experiencing side effects form short term use:
Give it a couple of weeks, you are probably fine , no matter how bad you feel right now.
If you still feel bad after a few months, please visit the forum.
But for now stay away from this mess and do yourself a favor.

Goodbye everyone, hope you recover

I would advise you to stay away from strong 5AR inhibitors for life, you may have recovered but there may be some residual effects that are long lasting. I felt perfectly normal for five years after quitting Dutasteride, and then as soon as I started taking it again I got destroyed

Yes I’ll make sure to stay the hell away from any 5AR inhibitors, I dodged a bullet by only taking a single pill but even that crippled me for nearly a month.
I’m guessing the kindling effect of this drug is very real and very severe. I’d strongly advise anyone who quit (whether you had side effects or not) to never take any 5AR or other hormonal altering drugs ever gain.

Also make sure to check your multivitamins, some contain saw palmetto.

Double post

Since I can’t send private messages I’ll post the sum of the responses here

  • The only change I made to my diet was I stopped drinking coffee, soda and caffeinated tea (almost all tea’s are caffeinated btw), I continued to drink alcohol.
  • I continued my workout/exercise as usual, daily.
  • My testicles returned to normal size after about 5 weeks.
  • I never had any extra or dark veins on my genitals.

So back to normal for you then? If so, that’s good. Stay away from rogain, saw, and nettle root.

Good luck Tec!

Really Happy for you!

how about your masturbation during those days…Did u masturbate …if so…how often…Im in the same track as you
