Nystatin Enema

I met a guy on another forum who was suffering from what he believed to be Candida. He also had the same sexual problems we did and said he had Prostatitis. He began doing Nystatin Enema’s three times a week. He says he seen significant improvement from doing this. While he isn’t 100% cured yet, it seems this could be another option for us.

His theory was that if you take Nystatin Orally that by the time it gets to your digestive tract it’s lost much of it’s strength. The Digestive tract in the average male is about 20 feet long so there could be a lot of ground to cover.

There seems to be some controversy regarding whether the enema could remove some of the healthy bacteria in the digestive tract as well, but there is no proof of this. Has anyone given this a try yet or considered doing it?

It should be mentioned this guy was also doing a disiplined AntiCandida diet as well.

… and that guy never took Finasteride, correct? If so he isn’t suffering from the same problem.

Did he have hormone testing?

So he put Nystatin pills up his ass for how long before he saw improvements?

Maybe IHP saw benefits because he took such huge dosages that eventually the nystatin did make its way to the prostate.

Wow

Haha I was thinking today that maybe butyrate + nystatin/or amphB enemas could be a cure for some…
Butyrate enemas are effective to regain colonic mucosa health. Check pubmed. Its also an HDAC inhibitor and as such has antifungal properties and would make nystatin more potent ( HDAC inhibition is being investigated as a novel way to kill fungus or at least potentiate other antifungals. Candida and other fungus secrete HDAC and need it to live. Niacinamide - vit B3 -, a potent HDACi has been proven effective against candida). Butyrate could also in theory help to reverse epigenetic changes in that area, and maybe nystatin could help it achieve this as it permeate cells (so does amph B). HDAC inhibitors have also been proven to releive inflammation in autoimmune prostatitis. Again check pubmed before crying BS. Butyrate is normally made from metabolism of soluble fibers from a healthy gut flora. If your gut flora is out of whack or dominated by candida you will lack it and experience leaky gut (a cause of autoimmunity). Butyrate tightens the intestinal barrier. Also worthy of note that estrogen (which fin raised) can induce spontaneous, autoimmune prostatitis in a rat model. Estradiol also help candida grow (thats why women get it more on the pill) and act as a signal for it to turn mycelial. Candida has an estrogen binding protein. Tamoxifen has been proven a potent antifungal. ALL OF THIS is on pubmed btw. Im just too lazy to retrieve all the links right now. Just check for yourself. Its just funny to observe that wether you beleive in dysbiosis/autoimmunity/prostatitis/candida or epigenetic changes you should give this a go.

Plus blasé and others have been shown via EMG + doppler technique to have a form of pudendal neuropathy with inflammation located in the area between the colon and the prostate. Im gonna do this test next week. I will report although Im really tired of having to argue everytime we attempt to discuss anything that may have to do with immune system alterations as an etiology for PFS. Ive shared the studies mentionning all the stuff Im talking about in the little mailing list we have among people beleiving in “iPFS”. Its really sad that we have to proceed this way. The studies are easy to retrieve on pubmed though if you are interested, just use the right keywords.

I’m def. considering doing this if I can get my hands on some nystatin powder or liquid…can’t use tablets for an enema.

The Butyrate thing sounds interesting as well.

You could crush the tablets and dissolve them… I personally will use oral amph B which is a liquid.
For those that fancy enemas, anal injection of kefir grains have also been reported to help control prostatitis by some dude on an alternative health forum.
Its normally used by ppl to treat IBS/IBDs (which are linked to many cases of prostatitis btw), here is the recipe.

For now, it can’t hurt to try a simple Enema with just filtered water.

You can now add me and JG as positive for pudendal neuropathy diagnosed by the modified EMG/pelvic doppler test. So far 6 out of 6 PFSers positive for this test. The doppler shows that the neuropathy stems from what is probably inflammation in the pelvic area on the pudendal nerve trajectory (leading to a form of entrapment syndrome). For some of us its focal (blasé, recently PFS’d) for others more diffuse (me, JG and others, longer standing PFS cases). Worth reminding is that me and JG also have some degree of intra-prostatitic inflammation=prostaitis (diagnosed by the competent ppl at Institut Fournier). But pudendal neuropathy by itself, even in the absence of intra-prostatic inflammation, can lead to very similar pelvic pains (including the testicles and the urethra). None of the doctors we are in contact with (including Dr Virag), unlike mew (hint: NOT a doctor) are excluding the possibility of a fungal overgrowth as the cause (at this point), especially in the face of a few successes with antifungals.

What does this Doppler-Test Mean? What afe The results? What does it Show? What is The Treatment? Antifungus?

Doppler tests measure penile arterial bloodflow to determine if there are leaks which may cause erectile dysfunction.

Just want to ASK what is going here? Anybody trIed Nystastin + butrytic stuff ?
