Numbness just when sitting still on hard surfaces

I have a new symptom going on since the start of April.

When I sit ABSOLUTELY still on a hard surface (particularly when I fall asleep on the bus) for 10-15 mins, my penis and some parts of my butt feels numb. Just like when you fall asleep on your arm and when you wake up, you can’t feel it. And when you change position, after a minute of pins & needles, the sensation returns. It’s just like that for me. Sensation returns in a minute but it’s very disturbing. I have no other numbness problems during the day. And when I don’t fall asleep on a hard surface, like going somewhere by bus normally, I don’t get this numbness issue, since I’m not sitting ‘that’ still.

By the way I had experienced this before using fin. When going to highschool, I used sleep on the bus every morning but I had gotten this just 2 or 3 times. But now, it happens everytime when I fall asleep on the bus. So this is definitely connected to fin.

I’ve seen this talked about by cyclists (who sit on a hard surface also for a long time) and people who have prostatitis (which I have thanks to fin) by the way.

What can you suggest me to do? Does this fall into the scope of a neurologist or a uro? Can you recommend me some kind of supplement or a diet -if they are connected-? Thank you very much.

Funny, I was going to make a related post about numbness and muscles/nerves but only tangiantially related so I will leave it to another post.

Regarding your issue. This could be two things. Either a serious nerve entrapment (rare) or a muscular tension which in consequence is making the nerves unhappy when you sit (most likely).

I would definitely start by addressing the former. Where do you live? You need a TOP physical therapist who knows how to deal with these issues. I dealt with CPPS before fin, and I can tell you a good physical therapist can treat and improve CPPS substantially.

You need to loosen those muscles, make sure to get rid of the tensing reflex, and see how you feel. I did have your symptoms at some point, now I can sit on a hard chair with less problems. I still prefer softer cushions.

Thanks mate. I’ll check up on that.

Anybody else experiencing the same thing? Or anybody that can give me a clue whether I should go to an uro or a neuro? Thanks.
