I think thats pretty much the defining characteristic of PFS mate, sorry. It’s symptomatic of the hormonal imbalance and a lack of bioavailable testosterone.
Since my PFS onset, 1.5 yrs ago, I’ve had, and still have good nocturnals. Thanks to my insomnia, my wake ups often correspond with them. I can lay there sometimes for 15-20 mins without losing them. However, I usually have no libido to go along them. I rarely get daytime erections. So for me, I think the physical function is still there, but the mental is lacking. This is why I believe PFS is neurological, as much as it is hormonal (at least in my case).
BTW … I’ve had mid-range total T and low Free T (due to high SHBG) for most of my PFS.
I’m hoping things improve, I cannot live in this state forever !!! I know that i’m displaying classic PFS symptoms but, I cannot accept ZERO erections.
Sorry, I was not trying to compare our two situations. It’s almost bizarre to hear someone say they “envy” my sexual health. But I realize PFS is not a one-size-fits-all condition.
One thing that I do believe helps promote nocturnals for me, is heavy weight training. I’ve tried to maintain good workout habits since the beginning of this mess. And it does seem that I have better and more frequequent nocturnals on the nights following a good workout. Besides lifting, zinc before bedtime may also have a direct relation for me.
I realise you was’nt comparing our situations. You seem like a really decent guy. But I’d give anything for a Sleep/Nocturnal erection. As every night passes without an erection, my penis is becoming thinner and thinner. More shrunken and numb. I would give anything to have erections and be able to use them, with no libido !!!
Zinc or ZMA gives me nocturnal and morning erections and mild libido, but not when used on consecutive days.
Manipulating hormones via TRT did nothing for me, less than some supplement I could buy in a shop for very little.
Also, if you are on anti depressants these will have a bad impact on your erections and size as they did in my case and others here. Up to you to decide if your mental health is of more concern then your sexual health for the time being. It could also be that your depression is gradually lifting anyway with the passage of time as that is common here and also on those receiving androgen deprivation for prostate cancer.
Do a thorough search on the forum for stuff that seems to work.
the only thing that has given me the odd twinge in my dick over the last six years is weight training,driving home from the gym somedays after a heavy weights session and feeling a bit of a spontanious erection or being on an aeroplane,ive had the best twinges or weak spontanious erections over the last six years while ive been up in a plane,god knows why,its happened a few times so there must be something to it,the last time i flew i was sleepy and thinking about sex constantly, getting so horny i had a wank as soon as i got home expecting a pre pfs orgasm then felt next to nothing when i came lol…
Are you still not getting any morning nocturnal erections? Start doing kegel exercises, they could be what’s improving my problems. Have you had your t levels rechecked? If I was you I would be using the amino acid L-arginine, horny goat weed, trib and tonkat on a cycle of one a day and never using the same supplement in a one week period to promote erections.
When I crashed my genitals were literally dead, huge ball/penis shrinkage, however, lately its getting much, much better, I’m getting morning and nocturnals every night now. And even had my first spontaneous erection. Now my plan is to try and increase nitric oxide levels in my body, through juicing vegetables, and starting supplement cycle.
