No natural erection for two weeks now even when masturbating

Could this be permanent?

Im just really scared this could lead me to a life of permanent impotence. How does one handle / accept this situation?

Wait it out. 2 weeks isn’t so long. I can’t remember the time frame but I couldn’t get an erection for longer than that. Then it gradually came back.

Give yourself a year. Not the news you wanted, but it’s not the worst news either.

Hey greek tnx man. I recently went to a Uro and after taking several tests (urine, blood, Testosterone), he saw that my prostate is a little bit enlarged (35 instead of normal 25 in size) so he gave me antibiotics and Alfuzosin 10 mg (alpha blocker) to act as muscle relaxant.
I remember my erections were already getting weaker before I started taking both medicines, im just worried that they may worsen my symptoms esp the Alfuzosin.

So im stuck. I took the antiobiotics til now but stopped Alfuzosin as Im scared because this is an alpha blocker.

Your thoughts?

I’m not the right person to ask - I wouldn’t advise you either way as I don’t know anything about alpha blockers. You may find the information you’re looking for here somewhere.

Sorry I can’t give you something definitive.

I am still experiencing morning wood altho not as hard as before. But I still cant get my penis up when masturbating. Watching sensual stuff no longer works.

I could still masturbate 2 months after I stopped Propecia. On the 2nd month of taking it, I noticed some pain in the tip of my penis which comes and goes. I am 2 months off Propecia now. 2 weeks ago, I visited a Uro and he gave me doxycycline and Alfuzosin for what seems to be a prostatitis problem.

But as soon as I started taking the two, I noticed my penis became softer and lifeless. What could this possibly mean? Anybody who have this kind of experience?

Some of my sides are brainfog, insomnia (treating it with Remeron) and anxiety from time to time.

I can’t help with either of your medicines but I would take comfort in that you’re still getting nocturnal erections - the equipment works.

I remember having zero interest in women for a while, but that came back with time, it’s quite strange to realise that you stopped and then restarted looking.

Im not really sure whether Im getting better or not. But I will my Uro this Monday to have a check up on my penis structure.

It feels so soft now. And the tip is getting a bit wrinkled.

Hi Greek,

Could you tell me more what was your experience when your erection gradually came back?
I’ve been off Finasteride since October 12, 2019 and I only noticed that my erections were getting weaker and also having a hard and long time getting it up two weeks ago.

Thanks for sharing bro

I think at 2 months off, nothing was happening for me.

I’m 18 months off now, there wasn’t a sudden change and there’s still ups and downs but the general trend is that I am better than I was.

I’m not as good as I was a couple of months ago, but I think I’m on a general upswing again.

When I have a downswing, it feels like everything is ruined and it’s all over for me, so don’t feel like you’re alone if you are feeling very depressed. It’s almost impossible to remember things as they were just a few days before.

You need to manage your expectations - in my experience this will take some time.

You also need to manage your psyche - this is hard to cope with, but gradual improvement is possible, even near overnight improvement too.

If you do have a breakthrough, don’t feel disheartened if it subsides (or try your best not to) - think of it as proof of possibility of improvement, rather than a step back.

Did blood tests show any markers of inflammation to warrant antibiotic use? Antibiotics can worsen your PFS condition. Like @Greek said, you may want to consider just giving it some time at this point, instead of throwing more medication at the problem, with potentially negative effects.

The doctor initially was looking for Prostatitis which was why the antibiotics were given. I took 3 weeks of antibiotics but he made me stop taking it because he didnt conclude it was prostatitis. So I stopped taking it already.

Thanks for sharing man. So how would you rate your erection to be now after 18 months off?

In my last visit with my doctor three weeks ago, I told him that i am still having ED. At this point, my penis has no response on PORN but can get stimulated when i cuddle with my girlfriend (I think it works 80% hard).

Summary of my condition
Stopped taking finasteride - October 12, 2019
Started noticing penis pain and weak erections - December 5, 2019.

Hi Guys, i’ve been having a lot of suicidal thoughts lately and I can barely function at work. This pfs is already affecting my work, relationships and almost everything I normally enjoy in life. HELP!

Prostatitis is often fungal not bacterial, so taking antibiotics for it will make it worse. Most docs do not know about this and make men’s prostatitis worse.

It’s good to jerk off to get that fluid out of the prostate when you ejaculate–can you achieve ejaculation?

This could be your personal version of a crash that PFS-ers experience. I have cognitive impairment so I cannot remember details, but I remember being in bed ready to do the deed but could not get it up and was so tired and sleepy. This incident I think was not too long after I stopped finasteride. At the time I had no idea what it was, this was decades ago.

How are you now @Crossroads? Sorry to hear about your condition.

I still have significant cognitive impairment that prevents me from working.

I have erectile and dysfunction on and off all the time–I need a whole bunch of medications to treat it at least where I have partial relief.

PM me if you want.

lift heavy weights, eat healthy, sleep good, maintain good relationships, forget about it. one day you’ll wake up and be horny and hard again
