No Hair loss after propecia?

Dont worry guys, i know this is not a hair loss forum. I started propecia at 15 years of age, and i had quite agressive hair loss then. Propecia did arrest this loss entirely. So at age 25 i quit proscar and have now been off it for 9 months. What is really strange is that my hair loss hasn’t really begun yet when i was told it should be quite rapid. Mind you some (a small bit) actually has gone.

Dont get me wrong, i am actually kind of hoping for hair loss. This would indicate to me that hopefully propecia hasn’t fundementally altered something. I just want my hair to be gone so i can get used to my new bald self and then perhaps i can begin again. By the way i do think talking about hair loss is an important process. While i do not doubt for a second propecia has screwed with me, i think it is unwise to underestimate the effect such a thing can have on us.

So i suppose my question is… Have any of you stopped loosing hair altogether after quitting propecia? If not, how long did it start to start up again?

when i stopped propecia i didn t have hairloss for 3 years,now they are falling again…about my recovery ??? still rollercoaster and i’m not what i was before the drug .

is your scalp itchier than it was?
i find increased itching is the precursor to loss

no,it didn’ t happen to me,or i dn t remember onestly .

anyway my hair falls out a lot now…but i still have sides …strange !

I’ve been off for two and half year and just now started to notice hairloss … Quick question for you guys if you have sexual side effects is it all the time or only in certain situations i mean mastubating oppose to intercourse

But yes, I had bad anxiety towards months 9-11 on the drug, when I quit. It cleared up within a month of quitting.

WEll at least after two and half years and three for italy we still have some of our hair(totally sarcastic)… thats what the drug was intented to do… (sorry for hijacking the thread)

If you’re having all the permanent side effects from the lack of DHT, then you should also have cured your hairloss.

Its quite amazing hey. Merck may have actually created a pill that permanently fixes hair loss!! It also destroys your manhood and cognitive function too.

Thanks for your replies. I too have felt the itching you are talking about. Only once actually. When i was in school at the age of 15. I said one day whilst walking on a class excursion “My head is so itchy”. A guy there said “thats because you are bald”. It turns out that he was 100% accurate lol. I never forgave him for that strangely. It was a painful memory for some reason.

I have a feeling i wont loose much more hair for a while… It makes it an annoying waiting game as i have the added problem of hair transplants. ahh life :unamused:

Before Fin -> i was going to be totally bald in one or two years. That s how fast my hair loss was.
After Fin -> it seems it will take ten years or more to lose the same amount.
