I quit propecia about a year ago, but have continued using Nioxin shampoo, which is advertised to remove DHT from the scalp. Would anyone happen to know whether this might impact serum DHT levels as well?
There have been a few topical lotions that have claimed that there were no systematic absorbtion from the topical lotion, but they still have some reported cases of side effects. My guess is that there would be no side effects if it was no systematic absorbtion so…
Dont know exactly what nioxin shampoo is tho so cant realy give an advise on the particular product. However i stopped using nizoral (is it same?) after propecia crash as i know the active substance (ketoconazole) have been shown to cause low testosterone levels when its systematical absorbed. However i think some ppl in here still use that shampoo and claim they have no side effects from it… (that they are aware of atleast)
Hope some1else can fill u in on this particular product.
cheers
Nizoral shampoo and Nioxin have no systemic side effects.
I am also worried abou this since Ive been off propecia for 8 months now with no recovery form sexual side effects.
I continue to use Nioxin, which supposedly inhibits DHT. Has anyone heard or seen ANYTHING about Nioxin causing sexual side effects? I want to make sure.
