Hello everyone I would like to get some advice here is my story. So this past years I start to use finasteride, I started back in like April I started with a very small dose of 0.25 mg and got some side effects low libido brain fog and the typical side effects as time went on they went away and body got back to normal so I increased the dose to 0.5 mg and again some side effects but got back to normal in no time so I again increased the dose to 1mg after that it when I noticed my I was getting gyno in my breast so I decided to stop taking during all this time I was using a dht blocking shampoo which I stopped using too. The first week after I stopped my libido was all time high I was getting erection like nothing then I crashed I got super depressed lost most of my libido and now I get like a 50 percent erection and have very little feeling down there it been about a month since I stopped everything I need help I don’t know what to do I feel so depressed all the time and I am thinking of taking some supplements to help with the ED also my penis shrunk if anyone can give some advice I would really appreciate it I feel horrible.

Welcome Ken1!

First advice I would give is make sure you don’t let your dick go dead for too long. You want to keep blood in there as much as possible. Manual stimulation, non aggressive masturbation. You don’t even need to cum. You want to keep nocturnal erections up so maybe very low dose Cialis or Viagra.

In terms of lifestyle changes I liked the moonchild or Ozeph protocol.

Don’t do anything drastic with supplements or hormone therapy.

Fill out the surveys, get your 23andme test and do some blood work. It will help the community.

I had some blood get done my T level are normal but my prolactin was high which is the female hormone for breast production also what is the 23 and me test for thankyou for the help

It’s a genetic test done via the mail. You order it off their websites and after you get your results submit it to the moderators here. It helps with research for the disease.

My prolactin was high as well. Mucuna pruriens helped me a lot with that.

Thank you I will do that i feel so depressed all the time like I don’t know your story but did you recover at all from this does it get worse with time.

Generally anything anti androgenic got me worse. You would be surprised how many things are anti androgenic in your diet.

It does get better. It’s like taking one step forward each day but if you take the wrong supplements or poor lifestyle habits you will crash and take 50 steps back. But you can feel recovered, sometimes 100% most days if you are careful/ lucky.

Hey Ken sorry to here about what you’re going through, it sounds like you were taking fin for several months i think you’re best course of action is just sit tight and try to relax for a few more months. Finasteride can have an effect on the body for a significant amount of time after cessation of use as the body can take a long time to bring itself back to homeostasis. The first time i took finasteride for around 2 weeks(i took it again years later which got me into this mess) it took my body about a month to get back to normal, just don’t ever take this drug again. Chances are that you will recover or at least recover to a point where you have quality of life back, i would recommend talking to those close to you about your situation it helped me. Best of luck mate.
