  2. Anything not listed in the above questions you’d like to share about your experience with Finasteride?

its poisson, if you are reading this and haven’t take it, don’t risk it, not worth it

  1. Tell us your story, in your own words, about your Finasteride usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.

I began to notice it when i had been taking it for about 4-6 months, i noticed i wasn’t having morning erections anymore, when i wanted to masturbate (i didn´t had girlfriend) i noticed every day passed i needed more and more time to get an erection, and i didn’t have the same sexual needs, at the begining i was like relieved cause of this no girlfriend thing but later on i was totally scared. I talked to my “doctor” dermatologist about that and said it was all in my head, so i kept on finasteride cause my hair was growing again… about 9th month i told him iwas worse and he said the same but offered me 0.5mg instead of 1mg pills, and told me to quit slowly and all this shit (i think we are all adults here). But the libido was every daw worse and geting erections harder and harder (not my penis sadly)…

As i said i don’t know exactly when i began and when i finished, i will try to look it out and i will post it here. I will also post all the things i have been trying and how it worked. For now only tribulus terrestris, the strongest version i will also check it, seemed to help. Arginine + pycnogenol did nothing to me. It was 0,5 mg arginine i know it’s recomended to take more but seeing the results i will go back to tribulus. I have been always working out in the gym so i can’t say if that is helping or not. I only know i was like always horny and if i had a problem it was sometimes eyaculate too fast, but always recovered fast also. Now after (i am almost sure) about two years off finasteride i feel like i am almost impotent, and i am only 30yrs old.

Like many people on the forum (i ve been reading it this last year) i have like upside downs, but i have like 2 good days and one month bad, this is not life, with tribulus it´s like back to normal but only an illusion, when i sotp taking it (you have to stop 2 weeks every 2 months) it’s like back to normal, back to be afraid to talk to girls you are into because confidence is broken, last experiences were to forget but until my little buddy it’s working again i won’t forget them. I will keep you posted when i take the tribulus again, i have the pills and all but i want to finish arg + pyco first, even though is not working i don’t feel like taking 3 pills daily

now two questions :stuck_out_tongue:

i have been reading that if you experience finasteride side effects, them lasts an average of 40 months, thats about 3 years, i feel like worse than average so 6 for me… Anyone have read anything about this? i am very interested cause it’s

there are members here with sexual side effects lasting more than 7 years? does tribulus, maca (i may try it but really hate taking pills, now more than ever) epilobo or all this things people say sometimes work enlarge recovery time?? is there recovery??

ok many questions, too long post, sorry about that, i will keep posting if i don`t feel too depresed

i am still living in this nightmare but never losing hope

well a little update. Since i wrote that post i have had 4 or 5 good days, and like always i though this sexual problems were over, but again i was wrong, again it’s almost impossible for me to get an erection or it takes way too many time, and then it’s way too difficult to keep it.

It was like 4 days with normal erections, as hard as before finasteride or almost (i am really begining to forget how was before) i am sad it lasted just that time. arginine + pyco definitely didn’t work for me, just noticed morning erections, but nothing real hard, just half way or 2/3. I am starting to think is more a libido problem, is like something in my brain doesn’t want to have anything related to sex.

Next month will be two years without finas and nothing it’s changed. Again i just hope this won’t be forever. I will report result on tribulus, as i said last year did work, for some weeks i felt again like a teenager, but i want my sexual life back without pills.

Sorry to hear of your current state. I can relate to the feelings of a good week, followed by a bad 3 to 4 weeks. This seems to be my pattern, since crashing 10 months ago. While my libido is low, I have been able to perform naturally without medications like Viagra, etc., about 2 to 3 times per month. While this is not ideal, it does show me that I’m not entirely broken. Right now, I wish I could get my sleep back on track. I wake up at least once every night and struggle to get 6 hours of total sleep.

Please try to hold on and make note of your good days, as they can be the best sign of hope that all is not lost.

well another update, everything still the same, I tried chinese herbs but did nothing, I think it’s been 5 years off so I hope to get better soon or I will take more drastic measures as viagra, or testosterone or these post testosterone stuff that dope people of the gym does (sry english :P)For now i will try to stop masturbating but i don’t see why that will help, when I tried it for a week or so, I could get a good erection and ejaculation but after that is all dead again…

I never been to endocrine doctor because I am afraid they will not believe anything… but maybe after summer I will give it a go.

What do seem to help are zinc rich meals, such as aspargus, seafood,… so do you know any good suplement with zinc? I hope to see more good stories in the recovery section, please people get back on the good track

If I followed your post correctly it sounds like there is a decent possibility that you have noticed a pattern than when you take trib you see an improvement in symptoms. Seeing that as far as we know trib increases LH which increases testosterone this may mean that you are one of the few pfs people who respond to taking testosterone.

Keep in mind that even though I am not new to these symptoms I am new to having the knowledge that a dht inhibiter caused these symptoms and I am also new to this forum.

Just an idea to think about. If you continue to notice a strong pattern that trib is improving your symptoms this may be an indication that testosterone is the answer for you. But keep in mind as we can see from people’s stories on this site most pfs people don’t respond to testosterone as far as it improving their sexual side effects.

Also this is just my opinion. If you go on TRT and if three months goes by and it did not fix you, go off of it. Don’t by into your doctor telling you that sometimes it takes up to a year for trt to restore sexual symptoms. I think that’s bad advice. My doc told me this and i did not agree so I came off trt after 6 months and luckily based off of my last labs my total T went up to 700 ng/Dl.

If it dose not work in the beginning to correct the damage that the dht inhibiters do I don’t think testosterone will work at all.

Maybe other people can comment on this
