“More than 500 Canadian men feel they weren’t warned properly about a prescription baldness medication they say has left them impotent, even years after they stopped taking it,” the Toronto Star reports today.

Note Merck’s response:

“Spokeswoman Lainie Keller…added there is no scientific data showing the drugs cause persistent impotence after discontinuing use. ‘Sexual dysfunction is unfortunately a common condition among men and caused by many different factors,’ Keller wrote.”

That response from Merck sickens me. What does she have to say about people who have brain fog so bad they get lost in their own house? Is that a common thing in men? I hope everyone at that company burns in hell.

The Scum running Merck have to be psychopaths, I woundnt even wish PFS on my worst enemy.

They will always deny that their drugs cause these horrible side effects no matter what. They know their drugs are causing such severe side effects but they deny it to protect themselves.

I e-mailed the author thanking her for the article and provided links to the PFS foundation website as well as to the abstracts from the conference in February to counter the whole “no scientific evidence” thing from Merck.

I know that response makes me sick too, but OF COURSE they are going to respond with this. It’s all a game. They will be proven wrong, we all know this.

I think our campaign should be to show that finasteride affects ALL men to some degree. I can almost guarantee that every person who has taken this drug has lost nocturnal and AM Erections. I have heard stories of this.

I am with you on this Finatruth. And the potential timebomb when you stop taking it. Thousands of guys who are currently taking propecia are at further risk if they stop. Merck’s profit pill can fuck you when on it then fuck you again when you stop. What other drug with allegedly only cosmetic impact has such a devastating effect on cessation. This is one of the many under reported dangers of this drug.

I feel that if we make statements like this we will run the risk of being perceived as fear-mongerers. We can speak for our own experiences, both you and I have experienced side effects that haven’t reversed. But I believe it will be less convincing if we try to speak on behalf of everybody that took the drug especially when there are many doctors who have experience treated thousands of patients that will publicly state otherwise.
