Thought getting better as far as nocturnal erections are concerned, daytime and libido were not improvig at all…it is 2 and half into quitting, but now new problem ejaculation without erections when trying to masturbate…scared hell out of me. dont know what to do…

I am new to this forum…

I am one the victims of finasteride sideeffects. I used that medicine for about 15-16 months continously. I started when i was 30…quit at 31. Started to see side effects 10-12 months of use like decreased libido, loss of spontaneus erections, erectile dysfucntions, diificult to maintain hard on, soft hard on, penile pain occasionally with nocturnal erections, no morning erections, multiple awakenings at night time, i just go to pie and go back to sleep…So i completely stopped taking it 15-16 months of use. And expected to reverse (may be i was to optimistic).

First month - only improvement is no more pain with nocturnal erections, otherswise no improvement at all.

Second month - same problem, able to masturbate though hoping things would improve, but very difficult to get hard ons and premature ejaculations…just ejaculations with little hard erections i would say.

Third month - little better…able to get some erections occasional upon deep and erotic thoughts, thought this is a big improvement. But last couple of days worse than ever before. Whenver i try to masturbate, little erection, but reverses to soft small size…doesn’t get hard anymore…and uncontrollable ejacualtion with soft small penis size. I still get nocturnal erections though. I am scared to death now.

I feel so awful and bad for taking finasteride. Just took that bad pill for hair loss like everyone else. I dont know what to do with my life. Family and friends want to get married soon. I cant even think about having a gril friend. I sometimes feel like this is my fate.

I understand i am just 3 months off that hell pill…but did anybody notice similar problem…just ejaculating with no hard on…is there any hope…or should i expect worse symptoms…i really did not have this problem when i was on the pill…i thought i was and will get better…atleast see gradual improvement …even very slowly…but did nt expect to develop new problems…Please help…

Sorry to hear about your situation, many of us are in similar boat and can relate. The good news is, some people do find things improve with time, although it can be a slow process.

Try not to worry too much as you are only recently off the drug. Your body can now start focusing on trying to heal from it’s effects.

In meantime you should consider getting bloodwork per propeciahelp.com/testing so you can see if there are hormonal issues that can be addressed, which may help with symptom management.

Thank you Mew…I will see a physician and try to get those tests done. Hope he doesn’t think i am craazy, if i show him that list of tests…Do you think i should wait for 1 or 2 months for those tests to have better idea ???

Several months after I stopped finasteride, I experienced a something similar to what you’re going through and it was very embarrassing. I would be with my girlfriend and feel a little bit of libido/excitement setting in and before I could even get an erection, a little bit of ejaculate would come out and my penis would go into a shriveled state, unable to get any blood flow going. It was as if I had gone through all the motions but without getting the erection.

It’s awkward to explain that one to your partner. This didn’t last for more than a couple of weeks though and hasn’t occurred randomly otherwise. I’m off finasteride for just over 2 years now and like Mew said, improvement is gradual. I still have my bad days but overall and am much better off now than when I started.

In short, bring as much proof as you can via published studies, media articles etc to prove your point.

Thank you Daveydc82 and Mew for the posts…You replies are encouraging and giving some kind of hope…Pray for gradual improvement … what else can i do anyway… Will give it 6 months with diet, vitamins and exercise if the tests are normal… if not much improvement…then will try occasional cialis after 6 months with doctor’s consultation…to see if it can help or not as a final resort…These days i think a lot about golden period 18 months ago when everything was normal… This makes me feel like a old guy recollecting memories…even though i am in my 30s…Anyway thanks for the forum to share and seems like a long road to go…
