New Member, Story + Blood Tests

Hey!

26yr old & made a big mistake taking this poison.
Took finasteride (~1.25 mg - 5mg divided by 4)
(6 weeks) 15th July - 1st September . Stopped cold turkey.
I am by no means the same as before taking it. Hardly any erections unless I get things going. Practically no desire (I used to masturbate twice a day - now maybe once every three days with porn), but when i’m with a girl I do get somewhat stimulated. Viagra works for me, Cialis not so much.

My symptoms are only sexual, and relatively docile compared to some of the psychological horror stories on here. I am still terrified.

The best way to describe the symptoms lie within my body and its ‘disconnection’ to my penis. I also have less blood in my penis when flaccid.

I used to take a lot of party drugs on the weekends, but have stopped taking them completely.
I do not exercise and have struggled to get going since stopping propecia because of a minor back injury, but from fleeting moments of exercise, I feel there is an overall improvement a few days later. I travel a lot and don’t have a consistent diet. However, I typically eat very healthily.

Below are my blood tests.

Help.

Oh boy… your DHEA is in the same range with mine. (Check out my bloodwork thread) It is above the healthy range. There is something going on about our DHEA levels. A lot of people have high in range. If you see your doctor, please ask questions about high DHEA and its relation with other androgens.

Anyways, first of all welcome to our forum. My recommendation is to stay your mind away from the horror stories and don’t stress yourself out. Believe that you will be fine in few months. There is nothing much to say more, as we all don’t know what to do exactly.

Also, what about your semen/ejaculation volume and orgasm intensity? Did you experience sensation loss during orgasm? Any hard flaccid or hourglass shaped penis? Do you have any pelvic/butt pain going on? (Im asking this for different purposes, long story)

Hi Cooper,

I never took fin/prop/accutane/ssri. However I have no libido, numb genitals, low semen volume and force, lack of body odor, dry tired eyes etc. This all started in june 2016 and symptoms just developed.

DHT 220 (300-850)
Total Testosterone 650 (250-950)
E2 12 (11.5-45)

DHEAs are also elevated? !!!

Hi James,

Are you a smoker? Your H&H is pretty high despite mid level testosterone levels.

Only thing that sticks out to me is the high DHEA-S, which a lot of members here have.

Are you able to get your DHT and SHBG, and Free T tested?

Gents93

I stopped smoking cigarettes, and now smoke a hell of a lot of nicotine from Juul E Cigarette

I will try get the DHT SHBG & Free T tested asap.

That would make sense as to why your Hemoglobin is high. Smoking decreases your oxygen saturation in your blood (due to basically destroying your lungs) so your body compensates this by creating more red blood cells.

Nothing else stands out to me. If you get your Total, Free, DHT, and SHBG tested once more that’d be very helpful. For now, try to do what makes you feel better whether that’s exercise. Avoid taking anymore anti-androgens via pharmaceuticals or food. You can look up these foods on google. Continue to reduce stress, sleep well, and eat correctly and you may recover fine.

I’m in the high dhea-s club with high test. Endo said it could be an adrenal issue, but doubt it’s the cause of all our problems

From a diagnostician standpoint, I would say the same thing- like an adrenal adenoma. But, since were talking about someone who has consumed finasteride and is suffering from typical PFS symtoms, I think it’s somethign way beyond and more complicated that a simple growth on a gland.

High lymphocytes like me. Weak but suggestive evidence of a autoimmune origin.

“Male DHEA levels similarly decline with age. Young men between 18 and 29 years old generally show DHEA levels from 108 to 640 ug/dL, with measurements dipping to between 95 and 530 during their 30s and 40s. Men in the 50- to 69-year-old age group usually measure between 42 and 310 ug/dL. DHEA drops to 28 to 175 ug/dL when men are in their 70s.”

  • I think we can relax. I wish i did this simple research before… people here overthink negatively on many things, including myself. Yeah but it is true that we do have high DHEA, it could be 200 or 100 too right? Maybe just a coincidence… maybe many other healthy guys have high DHEA aswell… idk

I also think I had brain fog yesterday & today for the first time. Maybe from Alcohol &or Coffee that I had a lot of over the weekend.

you think this could all be related to high DHEA? And as I get older things will straighten out?

I’m going on an intense exercise routine (by that I mean actually working out ) Will keep you posted.

I also have a feeling I could solve this by correcting my Microbiome. It must have taken a hard hit from so many party drugs, lack of exercise and binging on bad food at times - then eating ridiculously healthy and so on. This can’t be good for the microbes!

My stress levels are sky high right now for personal reasons, so that also won’t help.

Should I take anything? Tribulus/Triptorelin ? My Testosterone could be higher no?

Thanks Cooper
