My theory for brain fog issues

Here are some reason why I think you guys might be getting brain fog. So many things can cause it.

One is toxicity issues. Poor liver function can do it. Normal blood testing wont tell the whole picture, you need a Functional Liver Detoxification Profile as it will be a metabolic issue, not that youve got Liver Disease or Cirosis. Its usually treatable with amino acids and balancing out vitamins and minerals and of course all of this leads to detoxification.

Another reason is straight out low testosterone which im sure some of you are onto already.

Another one relates to the liver problems somtimes and that is insulin resistance. Not diabetes. Changing your diet to cut out sugar and include more protein can really help with this one.

Just some ideas…There are so many people getting around with these problems because there are only a few doctors (the number is growing rapidly though) that know how to treat them. Its an option anyway if your out of ideas.

I have a theory for ‘brain fog’ symptoms as well: They are side effects of Propecia. Stop taking it.

Reply from another forum , some new things that have not been discussed here such as citric acid cycle that some people may wish to look into more thoroughly.

Please post link to original thread, thanks.

Many of you (including myself) noticed toxic load that is going over and over giving very bed feeling including brain fog, fatigue…etc…

There was a one night that actualy led me to the correct investigation of my condition. I simply asked myself if this is possible that my body can produce any toxins massing arround with my whole body… I asked myself if porpecia that I stopped taking long time ago can still remain in my body, or if there is a chance that the toxic load is due to my destroyed DNA…etc.

The answer was pretty quick and simple and sounds “NO”!

I knew that something is going wrong with me, but I focused on anything that might be giving these toxic bursts going over my neurological and endocrin functions.

It was the greatest step towards correct diagnosis. I luckly found a doctor that was familiar with chlamydia pneumoniae a neurodegenerative disease. Unfortunetely toxic loads are simply the chemical “endotoxins” produced by intracellular pneumonia (there were already given names for these poisons: LPS, HSP 60 - very toxic produced extensivly during stress). I already started specialized antibiotic treatment. There is a huge role of METRONIDAZOL in removing toxic loads. What an amazing medication!! Someone should get the Nobel prize for that…

Toxic loads are slowly diminishing. Neurological and endocrine system is getting slowly into the right balance. Liver is doing better from one day to another also due to diminishing toxicity.

I will basicly tell you about my recovery when it comes in 100%. Now I want to help you understand what might be the reason for toxicity. There isn’t a single reason to feel toxication long after quiting propecia.

PS: This is my advice to everyone who is dealing with toxic loads, a typical co-factor in pneumoniae disease.

He’s saying much of the toxic overload comes from the bodies inability to break down ammonia (produced constantly by the body) into urea via the liver enzymes that do this in normal people.

re : METRONIDAZOL is that a prescription medication?
a medication that rid the body of toxins sounds remarkable , i thought all western medicines were damaging in some way to the liver

did you ever have any signs of regular pneumonia or this type of pneumonia you have is just ‘inter-cellular’?

Metronidazol is an antibiotic. It is the part of pneumoniae treatment. Metronidazol is used in pneumoniae disease and repeated in a few cycles. There is no use in taking it on your own. First you have to be diagnosed properly by your doctor.

Hyperammonemia was never diagnosed as post-medication disease. It is a genetic failure and usualy appears early in subjects life.

This (brain fog, fatigue) is a side effect of androgen deprivation therapy, something we did by taking Finasteride which lowers an androgen (DHT), as many men have done to fight prostate cancer. Many symptoms of androgen deprivation match our own:

In my opinion, all this talk about toxins and pneumoniae has nothing to do with our situation. Nobody besides yourself has chlamydia pneumoniae, yet we continue to have issues despite a brief resolution after quitting the drug – shortly after which most people’s Testosterone (another androgen) crashed.

We already know Fin alters Androgen/Estrogen ration in men, likely inhibits pituitary 5AR2, and that DHT plays a part in maintenance of the HTPA via negative feedback… it does not cause chlamydia pneumonia nor induce “toxic loads”, candida, or cause lyme disease (lol).

I’m glad you are recovering from your issues, whatever they may be, but seems they have nothing to do with Finasteride. For the rest of us, grasping for straws when you don’t have answers might seem like a viable strategy, but will only get you further away from finding a solution.

In my opinion, the best way to tackle this Finasteride problem is by using documented, scientific literature that describe Finasteride’s mechanisms of action and it’s various effects on the human body, and by knowing this, finding researchers that will be willing to investigate the post-Fin issue on our behalf to see what went wrong with either 5AR2, the AR, or some as of yet untested hormonal pathway, metabolites or ratio.

Nevertheless there is still significant number of people here having normal testosteron levels (like me) but still having issues. Considering different possibilities then hormonal in that case seems reasonable…

ADS, AIS will never get you into the state of contamination, toxication…etc. You may feel not the way you should but the state of toxicity that some guys do report here (Mitch for example) does not really sound the root cause is strictly hormonal for them…
