Hi all,
I’m new to this forum having recently stopped taking Propecia after experiencing pain and swelling in the testicles and primarily the epididymis and spermatic cords.
I took Propecia for three years and after about 18 month experienced hematospermia (blood in semen) and painful testicles. It cleared after a few weeks. I then started a long distance relationship and experienced three further episodes over the past three months following intercourse.
It appears when I sleep with her and don’t ejaculate quickly enough my epididymis and spermatic cords swell. If I ejaculate the swelling generally goes down but a painful cycle starts where one or both testicles become painful, retract up and the cords swell before returning to normal. This has typically lasted a few weeks but this time it’s been 6 weeks and I’m left with an ache in my testicles and pain if I walk for too long without rest.
I spent the night in hospital 5 days ago when the epididymis and spermatic cords got swollen. The next day I had a scan and got the all clear apart from minor swelling of the left cord. The doctor checked my prostate and diagnosed prostatitis although I’m not convinced as I have no pain or trouble urinating or ejaculating, no real pain from that area and no fever etc.
I thought I would post on here to see if anyone has experience / heard of similar symptoms? I’m wondering if the Propecia has damaged the testicles or cords perhaps and caused these symptoms.
Thanks
Morgan
