My story with IVF trials and Testosterone LH/FSH - SP + Accutane sufferer

Back in the forum after ~5 years…
Wanted to note down my experience in case anyone is going through similar issues…

During the last 3-4 years we have gone through multiple IVF cycles with no luck.
Embryo quality was generally low, with few embryos surviving each cycle.
(Clinics didn’t see any major issue with sperm - their expectations are generally very low for sperm and attribute all failures to the egg generally. I didn’t feel under pressure talking to IVF doctors.)
Sperm quantity was good but generally lacking speed / direction so IVF was pretty much the only option confirmed by the clinics and my urologist. Prior to SP/accutane hitting me with sexual sides I had girlfriends who had abortions so pretty sure my sperm were better previously…

I saw an urologist a year after the sexual sides hit me back in 2015, found my T levels were very low and he put me on 50mg clomid for 6 months. T shot up to 700 and stabilized in lower 400’s after a year.
My urologist set me free at the time. I was feeling better and was tired of all those visits/trauma and chose believing I was cured.
I chose to forget all this traumatic episode and was setted for a life of ED fully dependent on cialis for sex. I did not have any other sides and was living a normal life otherwise avoiding the forum…

For the next IVF trial, I wanted to clear out everything with the sperm for sure and went back to the urologist I have seen back in 2014.
He requested sperm DNA fragmentation / FISH tests, testicular ultrasound and hormone tests. DNA Fragmentation levels came back as normal, there was a very small increase in the quantity of chromosome abnormalities which he didn’t see as any significant. Testicle ultrasound found minor enlarging of left testicular veins but doc ignored this too.
Recent tests returned Total T 380, LH 1.57, FSH 3.90.
Doc is fairly flexible with hormone ranges but still did not like the LH being that low.
It seems he will put me onto another clomid cycle after checking prolactin tomorrow.

Really frustrated at the stickiness of this condition…
Got pretty paranoid and down again as I started thinking I am having testicular atrophy (probably I was not noticing it as I choose to forget) that and thinking the implications of hormonal imbalance.

Good luck to everyone fighting with PFS, accutane or SP…

Doc is putting me on to another clomid cycle after seeing low lh and normal prolaktin levels. Suggests we retry IVF after repeating spermiogram, hormones after three months of clomid.

He says my hormones are low but normal and this is my baseline. Doesn’t promise clomid restoring levels permanently but only to increase IVF success. He doesn’t recognize sp or accutane. Thinks I am a psycho probably- openly said ED he thinks is psychological. Really tired of all this, didn’t fight…

I am hoping losing weight and strength training will help keep some of the clomid benefits.
