My Low T - considering TRT???

Just had my T level come back at 6.9nmol

This has scared the hell out of me.

My questions are these…

Should I go on TRT for life?
Will it make a difference?
Even if it doesn’t change that much, surely if I stop producing my own testosterone I will need to take TRT any way just so I have some in my body?

What would be the long term health implications of no T or not responding well to TRT?

Please post your advice

I’m no expert but I think if you take the TRT gel you dont have to take it for the rest of your life.

From what I’ve read on this forum, TRT doesn’t work for PFS with very rare exceptions. You’ll feel awesome for a few days, then either go back to baseline or end up worse than before you started.

Cap, as for saying that though, if I’m producing very low amounts of testosterone or non at all, we all need this hormone in our bodies to ensure we do not pick up bone and heart disease.

The way I see it, if I commit to TRT, I’ll be doing for life, even if I drop back down again afterwards.
I’m trying to remain positive about starting it and hope I might be amongst the minority of whom it can work for as it has been shown to increase DHT too.

As things stand, my penis and balls have already shrunk and I don’t see how much worse my current state could be?

I’d like to hear from others who have tried TRT after propecia?

Please can somebody tell me my alternatives or options for vey low T?

What can be done to raise it other than TRT

Surely it would not be healthy to live with NO or LOW T?

Please offer your thoughts?

My latest level
Was 6.9nmol

You could try something natural, like tribulus. That’s what I’m doing.

You could also try clomid to raise your T.

What were your T levels at last time of checking and your thoughts on mine been 6.9nmol?

Thanks for your replies too

I dont have the exact figure but I had it tested 6 months ago and my Endocrinologist said it was “higher than normal” the year before that a doctor I went to said it was “slightly low”.

I dont think levels of T are the problem but it may be how it is distributed around the body like I can build muscle in my upper arms but my lower arms have got very thin.

I just got new bloodwork back this week. Between the end of May and a couple weeks ago my T and Free T doubled. You can find the original values in the bloodwork section. All I was doing was taking fish oil and a multivitamin, and I didn’t even take the multivitamin half the time. I was also doing everything I can to chill out. My doctor wanted to put me on T shots back then, but I decided not to because I thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to shut down my body’s natural production. I was right. Now I’m taking a natural T booster with tribulus and a bunch of other stuff. T shots should be your absolute last resort. I’d sooner try the stem cell thing than T shots.

FSH 2.7 iu/l (1.0-9.0)
LH 1.4 iu/l (1.0-9.0)
T 6.9 nmol (7-50)
TSH 1.8 (0.35-4.7)

Your thoughts?

Although most are low from how I see things.

Bloods taken 13/08/13

Total T 8.1 nmol
FSH 2.7 iu/l
LH 4.3 iu/l
TSH 1.1
SHGB 23
Prolactin 93

Any thoughts please?

your LH has gone up, which explains the slight increase in t. ~LH signals to your body to produce testosterone. Still, everything is low, and not exactly big improvements. Keep testing to get a better idea on how things are fluctuating. Keep in mind also that there is significant error in these tests, so what you may think of as a nice increase (or bad decrease) might actually be things just staying the same.
