My Blood Tests Please Read and Help

I am 23 and took Propecia 5 years ago for 6 weeks. I did do a Testosterone Test Prior to Propecia and then they were 27 nmol/L.

I have asked my doctors plenty of times to do a full blood pannel test for hormones and he always said we will just do Testosterone and of they come out fine then we will not do any more tests. I hate the doctor (uselss).

This time I went to him and lied and said that I have taken steroids and want a full blood pannel tests and he agreed to do so, here are the results:

Test done at 10am:

Total Testosterone : 15.6 nmol/L (8.7-29 U)
Serum FSH Level : 2 u/L (1-10 U)
Serum LH Level : 4 u/L (1-9 U)
Free Testestorone : 15.4 pmol/L (10.0 - 19.8)

Serum TSH Level : 3.58mu/L (0.40-5.00 U)

Serum Oestradiol : 79 pmol/L (40-161 U)
Serum Prolactin : 205 mu/L (50-425 U)

I am quiet confused here, usually people here drop there testosterons and their estrogen’s go up, but my estrogen’s are in good state so what could be causing the problem? Everything else seem to be in good range as well.

The side effects I am experiencing are:

  • Harder to maintain erection
  • Very low Libildo
  • No interest in Sex
  • Very little Semen Volume
  • Brain Fog

The doctor said the results are fine and as long as medicle treatment is concerned they cannot help me:

I know how I felt when my testosterones were 27nmol/L and now 15.6nmol/L

What can I do …

Hi iwill,

I’m relatively new to this myself, but as no one else has responded, let me at least say welcome, and very sorry for what has happened to you.

I think your total T is low for your age – I’d expect you to be in the upper half of the range. Your pituitary (FSH/LH) seems unalarmed about this. Your free T as a % of your total T actually doesn’t look bad to me, but again I think it’s a little low overall.

Your doctor seems unhelpful – I found find a different one. There are a handful of doctors that are attempting to treat PFS. Crisler, Shippen, Khera, Jacobs, Irwig… Where are you located? You might aim for a D.O. rather than an M.D. On average, I think they’re a little more likely to be helpful.

Raising T hasn’t been a good experience for many/most of the guys here, including me. I actually had no sexual side effects at all until four months after quitting fin, and starting TRT. Within three days my libido went down to 30% normal, and hasn’t returned since. hCG (mimics the effects of LH/FSH) was very promising for a week, then turned pretty scary and I had to quit. Still, there are many claims out there that raising T has eventually helped some guys.

Things I’ve picked up from studying this forum as possibly being helpful are looking at increasing thyroid hormones, with an eye on ensuring reverse T3 is in check; dexamethasone; and nystatin. There’s no clear agreement why any of these have seemed to work. I suggest studying the forum for any of these ideas before trying them.

If you’re deparate enough, you can bypass your doctor and legally (apparently) order some of your own meds from a place that’s been recommended here – “United Pharmaceuticals”, I think it is (search for it on this forum; don’t guess at a URL, as there are many pharmacy scam websites). But – be very careful taking meds without a doc!

Also keep an eye on joetz’s stem cell thread. He’s had positive results and posts periodically.

Meanwhile, research is underway that promises to shed some light on what’s happening, driven by member/administrator ‘Awor’. I believe some of the results of this are expected to come to light by February, and meanwhile he’s hinted at what’s been found. (But for any of it to make sense to you, you need some understanding of the underlying physiology.)
