In early 2022 some patients and I created a group on whats app for the purpose of regularly supporting research efforts. Since then, we have expanded the group to 40 members. The concept is quite simple, on the first of each month each individual posts a screenshot showing their donation. There are no restrictions in terms of how much you must donate, all we ask is that you support somewhat regularly. I am donating 150 each month, some donate 500, and others donate smaller sums of 25.
I would encourage anyone reading this to consider joining our group. It’s great to be organised and working together in solidarity and initiatives like this are certainly important to help drive progress. Ultimately, our way out of this comes through understanding the disease mechanism. This requires research. Research requires funding. That’s where we come in. Please consider joining us.
