Merck Theatens Doctor for Advising Against Use of Its Drugs

Merck has threatened a doctor at the University of Milan for trying to warn the public that Merck’s cholesterol-lowering drugs Zetia and Vytorin are essentially useless:

Note the passage from Dr. Boughton:

“It seems right now, though, that there is enough evidence that [Merck’s Zetia] is a bad drug and for the Food and Drug Administration to rescind its approval. It would be nice to believe that physicians would take the initiative to change their prescribing habits, removing $1.8 billion dollars from our health care bill while reducing our patients’ pill burden, but apparently we are not stepping up to the plate.”

Agreed. I wonder how much longer a “health care” company can get away with perpetrating a series of holocausts.

I am tired of watching them devastate the lives of innocent people across the globe.

And now Merck says it’s sorry for threatening Dr. Alberto Donzelli, the director of education, appropriateness, and evidence-based medicine at the public health authority of Milan, for warning fellow doctors that one of Merck’s cholesterol-lowering drugs, Ezetimibe --which rakes in $5.6 billion annually – might be zero-percent effective.

one of my friend’s brother died after taking Cholesterol lowering drug due to liver failure around 2008. he was in his early 40ies. Be very careful with drugs.
