Mention of Irwig study on NBC Today

(…in south Florida  )

Pretty sceptical about the issue though, and just used it as an opener to discuss other hair treatments.

I guess when you’re running a multi-million dollar hair restoration practice you really have no stomach for any other studies. Funny she never makes mention of that. Absolutely ridiculous that he says Irwig’s study isnt reliable because it wasnt done by Merck. Something is wrong with Dr. Iwig’s backround? Dont think so…

Some “holes” in our background? Really? No holes here. I’ve spoke to members of the press and used my own name. Anyone who wants to contact me can ask away. Interviewer was so vacuous it was painful to watch.

Maybe she could have asked why has Merck changed their labeling now for US consumers and why GB and Sweden did it years ago. For no reason? The piece is full of outright nonsense. I can see someone on the fence thinking about taking Propecia would feel completely at ease watching thtat. Does show that these hair restoration docs are sweating all the bad press though.

My comment on the video is pending approval. I doubt it will be posted.

Here is some more material from Dr. Bauman. He really aggrandizes the profession of hair transplant surgeons to a level that is entirely inappropriate for the medical profession.

It’s exciting to see the issue garnering up mainstream attention; but, the dumbed down treatment and dismal of the issue, ultimately just makes me mad.

I’m amused that the point of contention this product-pusher had addressed was a lack of lab analysis and the use of technology to contact people (nice argument; like the noun “Skype” is a synonym for “unreliable”). When Dr. Irwig’s follow-up piece is published, I would be entertained to see what the next childish argument is to the credulity of this issue - if I were not dealing with five fucking years of absent health and a completely shattered quality of life thanks to this defective drug, of course.

Merck already ADMITTED this is a big problem, and have never moved an inch to assist anyone despite being contacted by many doctors and patients. They can keep backpedaling and whitewashing the issue for PR purposes on television. but the truth is not ignorable anymore. It is only a matter of time before this all blows up in the face of the “hair restoration specialists” pushing this drug and their sugar daddies at Merck - and rightly so.

They owe a heavy price for this defective drug, and that debt will be paid.
