Mens Health magazine article on Propecia - December 2011 issue

Anybody seen this? A buddy of mine from across country just called and said he saw an article in Dec men’s health about PFS.

[EDIT: scroll down to read the article]

Great news if true and I know one of the members was involved with them. Keep up the pressure!

I just bought myself a copy of the Men’s Health December 2011 issue (Ashton Kutcher is on the cover) to read the article on Propecia and the Post-Finasteride-Syndrome.

The article is a “Special Report” titled “A Hair-Raising Side Effect”, is 4 pages long (pg. 102-105) and is well written and researched. I recommend everyone check it out at their local magazine shop – it does a good job covering the basics of PFS, sufferer stories/symptoms, and the need for more medical research.

Men’s Health magazine has a North American circulation of ~2 Million, so that’s some pretty widespread media exposure. I’ll see if I can put up a scanned copy of the article in coming days.

YES! YES! YES!

This is exactly the kind of media exposure we need, i am going to hit the shops and get a copy now.

Slight problem - you’re on the wrong continent.

Its probably the largest mens magazine out there in the USA. Definitely a step in the right direction.

I thought they sent out the same edition in Europe? ah well, the US is great. Let’s aim to get an article in the UK and EU editions.

Bluecloud, check if its in the UK edition… maybe its in there too.

It was a good article, covered a lot of the aspects of the PFS that previous media has left out. I was happy to see that they discussed the issues of depression, anxiety and “lack of excitment for life” fairly indepth… because, unfortunately as many of us know, this problem is much more than a sexual one.

They also discussed Merck’s lack of acknowledgement toward any negative issues surrounding the drug and how it took years before the persistant side effects were added to the US label versus the European labels.

I appluad Men’s Health for their effort on the article and all the men who contributed.

+1

Can someone scan it please? Dubya_b? Anyone??

This article isn’t in the UK edition :frowning:

I will scan it and post it up here in the next few hours.

Yes please scan.

they should also amend articles like http://www.menshealth.com/best-life/im-24-and-my-hairs-starting-thin

If you have not joined the lawsuit, do it today!

That would be awesome mate. I checked the stores today and the UK edition is different.

Maybe he should look into Finasteride’s neurosteroid inhibition effects in the brain instead.

“The science behind these causal effects just isn’t there.”

~ Just wait a few months, K?

This is by far the best article I have ever seen covering PFS. This has always been one of my favorite magazines.

I’m looking for the screengrabs of this article. Can anyone PM or e-mail a link to me?
