Yes meditation is very effective. I’ve been doing mindfullness meditation for months now and can say that it has been beneficial in reducing my anxiety. I also work in mental health as a therapist and have seen it do wonders for people.
It’s well researched with a number of studies showing that it is beneficial in reducing the symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress and other mental health challenges. The research also suggests that it can alter the structures in our brain (i.e. reduce the size of the amydgala–the fear center that plays a role in anxiety and depression).
