If finasteride directly affects our prostate and semen amount, can masturbating a lot expel all of the 5 alpha reductase enzymes attached to finasteride (dihydrofinasteride molecules) or are these moleculs in the cell walls of the prostate? It would seem logical that if dihydrofinasteride molecules are just randomly suspended in the prostate, having a bunch of masturbation days would help the problem, no?
I don’t know why you are so hung up on this concept of 5AR still being bound, but please understand: Finasteride is no longer in our systems and thus Finasteride is no longer bound to 5AR2.
Fin was excreted within a day after your last dose, and 5AR2 enzymes which were bound (dihydrofinasteride complex) turn over after ~ 30 days.
So no – masturbating will do nothing to “expell 5AR enzymes attached to Finasteride”. Come on man, if it were that easy all of us would be cured.
Please, think before you post…
One can’t prove finasteride is no longer in our systems, unless you’ve gotten a prostate and/or blood test that specifically tests for finasteride. Is that not a fair statement?
The half life of the bound molecule is about 30 days as indicated in the finasteride studies. The full life is not 30 days – it’s the half life. And this is after one single dose apparently. Am I the only one who recognizes this?

My thoughts exactly.
kirrabeachbum,
I think you are barking up the wrong tree man. It is recognized, yes, but it is not the problem. If that was the case, we wouldn’t have to take drugs on a daily basis for them to work. The fin is gone. Out of our systems. We are suffering from the damage done by the drugs ACTION. NOT by the drug still being in our system. You may find some peace the sooner this dawns on you.
I’m just trying to think a bit out of the box here. Nothing more, nothing less. But then what is the point of mentioning that the half life for dihydrofinasteride molecule to unbind is about 30 days? I’m trying to relate this number with the other half life of several hours.
