Mark_Benson's Bloodwork

Hi,

My bloodwork (that GP preferred to order ) from 17th December 2011…My story is already posted in Stories column with my previous Hormone profile reports.

I will document only my Hormone reports. My sugar/cholestrol came within normal ranges

Sensitive TSH - .86 ( 3.6 - 6.0)
Vitamin B12 - 243 - (198 - 615)
T - 11.1 ( 8.4 - 28.7 nmol/L)
Free T - 39.0 ( 31 - 94 Pmol/L)
Total Prolactin 5 ( 2-18 ug/L)
LH - 3 (2-6 iu/L)
FSH - 4 ( 2- 8 iu/L)
Free T4 18 ( 9-23 pmol/L)

GP felt everything is normal. This free T is similar to my previous report where I had 7 on a scale of 3-32 and two specialists did feel it was normal too. I might get a referral to a specialist now.

Any thoughts?

Google testosterone range age and check out the the average testosterone ranges for healthy males in your age bracket. You’re in the bottom 5th percentile for total T.

your tsh is very low. check your T3 T4 and antibodies for a thyroid problem also. most of us suffering from hypothyroid and/or adrenal fatigue related problems. also read more about autoimmunity.

Apoligies…

The correct TSH range is .35 - 5.00 mIU/ML

So I would not concern with it at this stage. My concerns are Libido (poor sensitivity of testes), semen volume, no spontaneous erections, no dreams or morning erections, low force during urination and flatter moods.

The main problem that got resolved one year after stoppage of Finasteride was that my instant memory problems resolved.
I shudder to think that for life I wont be able to enjoy music the way I used to. I don’t crave for food.

I am meeting a specialist soon. In my past any attempt to increase my T levels has only helped for a few weeks and then tappered off. I am hoping that by constantly monitoring the E2 levels, increasing T may help(my doctor never monitored that). Its all a prayer. I regret every moment about what I did to myself. Recovery from this is the greatest challenge of my life.

The question that kills me all the time is that why is it that most doctors always feel most of the cases we see here on the site with low T levels are actually normal according to them.

I met this Endocrinologist who in April 2012 whom I convinced for a few tests apart from sex hormones( others being cortisol, DHEA and DHT). Please see the results below and also 3 other results I have posted. One from Dec 2011 and two earlier results I posted are for a comparison of a test called “bio-available Testosterone” which the doctor says is very good indicator in itself instead of relying on Total T or Free T or measuring SHBG.

He is clear that my Hormones look normal. He said considering that my Bio-available T is mid value he would not give too much importance to lower side of Total T. He feels everything else is normal. He has adviced me to meet a Urologist regarding my poor urinary flow. He felt my cortisol was borderline (Can someone tell me how is it borderline when it is well above range, has it anything to do with the PM values? ). But althought he thinks there is no problem with cortisol as my stomach is doing fine. However he has agreed to provide me a simulation test to investigate cortisol. I have bad sleep (really bad) but fatigue is a lot of concern but I do fatigue. Can anyone make anything of low SHBG?

I am not convinced by his theory about Bio-available T. The reason is (look below), In Jan 2010 I had a mid level T when my Bio-available was top of the line ( the best I have felt (50% improved) sinceI had PFS 5 years back) but when it crashed, my bloodwork shows out of range T in April 2010 but still my Bio-available T is in range.

I am really sad and frustrated- - yes three knowledgable doctors had said that my hormones look in range - I have my cortisol testing due and an appointment with a Urologist - my urinary flow is bad and I don’t squirt any ejaculate well for last 5 years. Poor erections, poor sensitivity of testicles, low libido etc.

Current Agenda

I am starting Fish oil and 25 mg Zinc today onwards - Will add a B vitamin cap to it. Also thinking of starting Tribulus again but I feel my poor prostrate response in last 3-4 months could be because of Tribulus but am so frustrated that I want to try it again. Like someone said, it feels like a ‘Asexual Zombie’.

Please give your thoughts on the bloodwork and make any suggestions. I hope and pray I land a good job so I can meet Dr.Shippen in the future. I also want to pursue the neurotransmitter line.

I need your support guys…Please provide some feedback on my future course of action. My family (parents and sisters) understand it at a superficial level and I cant discuss the nitty gritties for they don’t know this stuff. 5 years on, life is a struggle.

I have a really bad sleep and never feel fresh after even 8-9 hours of sleep. Does this have anything to do with cortisol. Can someone comment on my cortisol too?

I wonder how bad is it for others. I rate myself so low that I have no sex life (I tried penetration with Viagra 4 months back only to ejaculate a little without a squirt in 3 strokes). I dissapointed her so much but she was kind enough not to tell me. My situ is so bad I rate as below

Libido - 4/10(on a scale of 1-10) - I masturbate everyday but its a sham, this is not as fun as good masturbation.

Erection - 3/10 - My current level is not worth penetration - Viagra does not work well for me - does it happen to anyone else?

Semem volume - 2/10 - there is no fluid accompanying the semen - is this prostatic ?

Oragsm - 2/10 - I ejaculate without a sensation or feeling of ejaculation

Morning Erections - 0/10 - the best I have had after quiting Finasteride was in 2010 when my T levels were mid level (5 on a scale of 2.8 to 8) I had consistent morning erections for 2.5 months

Its bad, no sexlife - no nothing - I dont feel I want to talk to women -

I feel sorry for you. I can not give any advice on your blood. Are you taking Vitamin D + Magnisium? please start taking if you are not taking them. It is not a cure but vitamin D supplementation will save from future bone or muscle problems and will help you in bedroom as well.

I have not taken Vit D or Magnesium yet. I am taking 25mg of Zn Picolinate and 1000mg of Fish oil everyday for last one week. My sleep has certainly improved. I saw some instant sexual improvement for first 2 days but that did not last.

Meanwhile I got the result of my Di-Hydrotestosteron bloodtest. I don’t know the units but it is

3403 (Range 860 - 3406)

What would a high DHT mean for me? I am pretty sure of my prostatic problem because of my poor urine stream, low semem volume and no force in ejuaculation.

I am scheduled for a Acth Sim test for cortisol testing next month. I am confused about DHT now.
