Lycopene and Beta Carotene

I think Lycopene is put into a lot of multivitamins and so is Beta Carotene. Lycopene is generally put into a lot of multivitamins to support prostate health, but I was just reading on wikipedia that it might be counter-productive to the cause and might even raise the chance for prostate cancer. Synthetic but not naturally occuring sources of beta carotene apparently also increase the risks of cancer, especially if you’re a smoker.

Please quote your sources with links!

Oh sorry, a lot of sources I’ve looked at pretty much just state that lycopene doesn’t have much research done onto it.

Such as the mayo clinic website… http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lycopene/NS_patient-lycopene

The wikipedia page is what says what I’m talking about, but we all know that wikipedia shouldn’t be taken too seriously since anyone can edit it.
