Just crashed 4 days ago and seeing a lot of muscle wasting. can’t sleep as well so this isn’t helping things. Is there anything I can do to slow down the process? I never had sides while on the drug for 12 years and quit 4 months ago and just had the crash. Or could this be something else as I did have a stressful event a month ago which seemed to start muscle pain and sleepless nights. did seem something about adrenal problems, stress and muscle wasting.Don’t know if I should go to the hospital or what? Any help would be appreciated.
Check these forums for a doc in your area that might be more friendly to your condition. Most docs are just going to do bloodwork and say it’s all in your head. The first thing you should do is get sleep under control. I had a similar situation to you- long time user and then crashed after many years on it. I felt like my body was wasting away. That was over a year ago and I’m doing way, way, way better now. I never did the drug route although I tried lots of supplements. First I tried all sort of teas to sleep- Valerian, Camomile, Kava. Those were better than nothing. I also tried melatonin, but I had to get the dose right. I found I needed WAY less than most people. Under 1mg for me. Your body needs the sleep to repair and refresh. Others have benefitted from 5-HTP or Tryptophan but I would be careful with that, only use under a professional’s supervision. Most of my gains came from working with a naturopathic doctor who’s basic advice was the same as you’ll see on the forum: Eat really clean (organic) healthy foods, no processed junk, no refined sugar, no wheat or dairy. Eventually I got better. 3 Months was a big improvement, 6 months bigger. By a year after the initial crash I was having more good days than bad. I still will have a day of bad sleep now and then, or serious brain fog, but it’s more like 1 bad day for every 10 rather than 10 to 1. Take it easy and slow and I would say try natural methods first. Look at CDnuts’ thread for some more info on how he recovered.
PS Odds are in your favor you will recover naturally, while many men do have side effects, it’s only a small percentage with persistent problems.
